Judge blocks release of bodycam footage of Andrew Brown's killing. Cites deputies' safety
among other things.
Delayed it for 30 day. Family can see additional footage as long as deputies ID is restricted.
Obviously the Judge is afraid the case will be influenced by outside parties if the full videos are released...

2. What does that tell us?
That's a rhetorical question, of course. This whole thing stinks.
Probably the suspect tried to run the deputies over with the car...

18. Womble also said that Brown hit deputies with his car twice
Before they opened fire.
Sounds like he is already setting up the reason it will be considered justifiable. They generally consider a vehicle a deadly weapon when heading towards or coming into contact with an officer.
Womble is the DA...

4. Don't know about NC law, but purpose of Cams is to protect citizens & police. Should be released.
Quote from this article gives me some hope that charges will be brought. And, of course, FBI is investigating.
"Womble [the District Attorney] would then want to have the footage released in open court at a jury trial after charges have been brought. If no charges are brought, he said he would release the video at a press conference where he explains that decision."

8. The street cam video already released clearly showed the SWAT team arriving at Brown's home,
speeding around the corner in an open truck with a bunch of heavily-armed cops decked out in full battle gear in the bed. It looked like war zone footage of some third-world warlord with his crew of mercenaries driving into a village to commit genocide. No wonder the authorities want to cover it up.
It's called a high risk warrant.

11. Exactly. We need to stop
arming police as though they are going into battle with the Taliban.
Please.... I respect the Taliban. Those ****s stood up and fought us more than once.

10. This is going to get ugly.
It appears that some folks in NC don't know what time it is.

14. I'm sure there might be some reason I'm not thinking of
but why aren't all of these interactions public record?

17. It May Be That The Video Is Evidence?
And, releasing to the public could be considered prejudicial?
Just surmising.
yup.
