Biden should declare a national emergency on gun violence

Trump declared one for his stupid "border wall crisis," President Biden should declare gun violence a national emergency and force Congress to address the issue. Considering the number of mass shootings in the last 7 days this has become as big a threat to America's health and safety as Covid and climate change.

 :whatever:

In Chicago, in just March 2021, there were 233 shooting incidents and 298 shooting victims, police data show.

For the month of March 2021, New York City saw increases in index crimes, shooting incidents increased to 99 v. 56. For the month of March 2021, there were 492 gun arrests citywide. This is an increase of 66.8% compared to March 2020.

You can't find crime stats for most major blue controlled cities...

1. Better To Just Accept And Get Used To It

Some things will never change. Just something you have to live with in America. You never know when you might be a victim of gun violence.

Thinking that President Biden can do anything significant, will only get you more disappointed.

It is who we are as a country, and always will be. It didn't stop when 21 1st graders were killed. It didn't stop when 61 concert goers in Vegas were killed. It's certainly not going to stop over a few mass shootings over a few weeks.

6. Guns are not violent but people are. There are many mentally ill persons who would

benefit from diagnosis and treatment and there's no reason to allow them access to
firearms. It's a people problem, people!

8. He really can't force Congress to do anything

Declaring a national emergency is not some magic act that will make all obstacles disappear. You still have to get legislation through the Senate and the president doesn’t even have the Democratic votes he needs.

10. no solution is perfect and that's what the wingers want..

That is their oft repeated mantra...**** reduced

school slaughterhouses, **** fewer stray bullets

killing people in their home. If it ain't perfect , the

gop is against it...
