You really need to read The Hunger But Mainly Death Games: A Parody. Hilarious and only $.99 for the Kindle.

My daughter talked me into reading the first book. I shoulda learned my lesson after letting her talk me into reading Twilight. :thatsright:
If your bent is dystopian novels, there are better ones out there than The Hunger Games.

One that comes to mind, actually a trilogy, has some romantic elements in it a guy might not care for (but you're a big boy and I'm sure you can handle it ). It's written by Ellen Connor and the first book is Nightfall. Ellen Connor is the pen name for collaborating authors Ann Aguirre and Carrie Lofty.
Another dystopian novel, minus any romantic elements, is The Rift by Walter J. Williams.

Interesting. I see they're already working on a movie version of The Rift (if it hasn't been released already).

Thanks for the info re the movie. I like it when they make movies of books that don't start with "comic".

Ender's Game sounds a little bit like Starship Troopers, what with the bug threat and all. I absolutely loved the Starship Troopers movie; thanks for the heads up on Ender's game and Neuromancer.
I really like scifi books with Earth invasion scenarios. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, eh, it's all good reading entertainment.

I loved Nuromancer. I hope they do the book justice.
Another I'd like to see is Nova by Samuel R Delany
