Do you have a passport?

In 1938, Germany invalidated the passports of all Jews. So what does this mean to you? Well, it means that today's Republican Party, given full power, can invalidate anyone's passport.

And if you think Republicans can't gain full power, what do you think is happening with the election laws being passed in swing states? What do you think is happening with the Democrat's being blocked from killing the filibuster? It's more than possible that the Republicans can win (steal) the house and senate in 2022, and win (steal) the presidency in 2024.

Yeah, most of us never thought about emigrating. (Most Jews didn't think about emigrating in 1938 and had no concept of what was going to happen.)

So what am I saying? Is a governing Republican Party capable of anything? Including genocide?

Believe what you will. But remember that today's Republicans believe that the 2020 election was stolen from "Dear Leader."

Exactly what is it that you think such people are incapable of? Exactly what do you think an unrestrained Republican Party would or wouldn't do? Exactly what planet do you live on?

If you don't have a passport, get one while you still can. (Unless you're a white Anglo-Saxon
"Christian" who believes that "Dear Leader" is a god.)

ON EDIT: SOME HERE SEEM TO THINK I'M TALKING ONLY ABOUT JEWS. I'M TALKING ABOUT BLACKS, BROWNS, JEWS, MUSLIMS, LATINOS, AND ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO ISN'T A WHITE, ANGLO-SAXON CHRISTIAN LOVER OF "DEAR LEADER."

3. Of course I have a passport.

Still have four more years on it, and will probably renew about six months before it expires.

Our religions are not noted on our passports, nor our party identification or voter history. So how do you suppose the Republican Party could selectively invalidate passports?

I have my passport with me at all times.

17. I'm not remotely willing to think they could be organized enough to find individuals and start cancelling our passports. Plus, unlike Jews in Germany in 1938, we won't hold still for it.

A side story. Maybe 15 or so years ago on a trip with my husband and sons to Toronto, we met up with a distant cousin of his. In 1938 she was a child, the family is Jewish (as is my ex), lived in Berlin, and they were on vacation to Switzerland when Kristallnacht happened. Her father owned some kind of business, I don't recall what kind. His workers/managers told him it would not be a good idea to return. So they stayed in Switzerland until about a year later they were able to move to Brazil.

I'm telling you this so that I don't come across as totally ignorant of what can happen. It's possible I'm naive, but I'm not ignorant.

The US looks pretty shitty right now. We are in the middle of NC.

12. The US is looking better than it has in at least 4 years and the majority of Americans feel we are "on the right track", another view not heard in a long time... Rebuilding our infrastructure is the subject of Biden's trillion dollar proposal.

8. From your lips to whatever greater power exists

But, exactly what is it you trust about today's Republican Party?

Want my take on them? They are barbarians who will do anything at all to make sure everyone falls in line, loves "Dear Leader," and will do whatever they're told to do. If not, ...

18. I see passports as other way: That Colon/Condo/Shrub foisted mandatoriness on us

And in these years of Wingnut states doing voter suppression with "voter ID" as one cover - I use the passport to jab the wingnut side of the poll workers in the Primary season. They're not used to the passport vs Drivers License or even GUN PERMIT, so I say, "I use my passport because I feel like I'm in a FOREIGN COUNTRY!"

Yea yea, somebody will school me in 3, 2, 1 that passports don't have enough info for some congressional districts or that I'm silly putty. It's my thang to irritate wingnuts, o-kay?!1

20. I have kept a current passport since 1983

When Trump was elected, I immediately sent mine in to be renewed, even though it had another year on it. I feared Trump would destroy government so quickly that it would be possible I could be left without a passport if I waited to renew it after he'd taken office.

I didn't turn out to be far wrong. Because of the pandemic, it's been next to impossible for almost a year for most Americans to easily get out of the country even with a passport.

Nope.  January 6 was their burning of the Reichstag.

And Ashli Babbitt was the Crispus Attucks of this revolution.

Why would we want to invalidate your passports?

We want you to get the **** out of here.

Wow! Who exploded Cyanose's :stoner: ?! He turned his paranoia up to 111, :rotf: .

On DU, Trump was Literally Hitler and GWB was Literally Hitler. The only reason Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and GHWB weren't Literally Hitler on DU is that DU didn't exist yet.

 Will DUpipo ever tire of their Chicken-Little-ism outbursts of paranoid panic?

Arghhh. Clearly an oversite, can we get someone on this quickly before our master plan is activated in 2022?   ::)

Why do DUpipo imagine EuroLand countries or Oz or Canuckia or the Kiwis would welcome DUpipo whose sole life skill is leeching off the government?

Well, you are hanging around the DUmp, where you have 14k+ posts.  The entire site was built on alarmism and outrage.  This is just a normal Thursday in that cesspool.

We have no intention of keeping you here.

In fact, I dare say we might even approve of a government funded program to relocate you assholes.

If only we could see their reaction when they find out other countries won't just let them waltz in and stay there.  :-)

Cuba is 90 miles south.  Build a raft and paddle.  Your socialist paradise.

I'm sure you DUmmies can pick up this "vessel" real cheap somewhere around South Florida from the former Cuban residents who had too much of the "paradise" and felt it was time for a change...
