I think the term is "unintended consequences" but that would be wrong in this case. President Gropey fully intended to flood the border with all manner of people. Some of them are just people looking for a better gig, no doubt, but there can't be ANY doubt that the drug traffickers, human traffickers, terrorists, murderers, rapists, and other dregs of even south-of-the-border society are looking to cash in.
Gropey is all too happy to do that, using our money, of course. And the payoff is, Gropey and his sycophants get the dregs' votes! What a deal!
If our country survives Gropey and his dingleberry thugs, there also can't be any doubt that even those hanging out in Mommy's basement will note the difference.

A lot of these people come from south of the south of the border. They try to claim asylum, but there are rules to that. For it to truly be asylum you are only supposed to move 1 country, you don't get to pick and choose. You cross the border into the next country and file for asylum, and that is either granted or not.
They'll let these people in and in 5-10 years grant them citizenship for crossing illegally. Wash, rinse, repeat.

But wait! Since Gropey is barely awake and coherent and his sycophants are completely incompetent, the DHS Schmuck is sure to take the hit. Or maybe kicked downstream to the Border Patrol....either way you look at this, President Asterisk ain't in a position to take accountability for anything at all.

It seems like it was easier to open the countries borders than it was to allow sports gathering. Governor DeSantis is doing the best he can with what he's up against.
