A conversation I had with my youngest.
« on: September 28, 2017, 08:57:10 AM »
She's pre-teen.

We were out doing the morning chores which means feeding the various and sundry livestock. We have geese, llamas, pheasants, partridges, goats, chickens, ducks and whatnot.

I don't remember exactly what brought it up but she announced she did not believe in God.

Now, anyone who knows me knows I am not a Bible thumper but I do consider myself a rabbit of contemplation and open-mindedness.

My response to was:

"Do you see all these creatures?

"Do you see how we have created a world for them? How we care for them, feed them, tend to them when they are sick or injured? How we give them love.

"And we don't ask anything from them except that which they are naturally inclined to give.

"Yet, because of their closeness to us they have become more than they ever would have in the wild.

"If we can do that for them why is it so hard to believe someone higher would do that for us?

"Where do you think we learned it from?"

She didn't respond but I could see her thinking about it.

According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Chase her.
Chase her even when she's yours.
That's the only way you'll be assured to never lose her.
