Video portal here - http://www.whitehouse.gov/state-of-the-union-2011

Cool ad about the Sentries at the W.H. right now.

I just noticed something interesting at the video link - "A first ever feature you won't find anywhere else. Put President O's speech in context as he delivers it." Hmmm....their own translator/spin machine???  :lmao:

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

National Journal has the prepared speech ahead of time.

Hmm...choices...

I could either watch the State of the Union address, or a movie about Knute Rockne and starring a real president that I recorded a couple of days ago.

Seems fairly obvious...

Well, I think instead of watching Zer0 I'll go read a good book.  Hell, a crappy book would be better than listening to one minute of his bullshit.  Those of you who can, carry on. :usflag:

HuffPost Comedy's 2011 State Of The Union Drinking Game

Word of warning... yes, it is as bad as you think it is.  Completely un-funny and without an ounce of humor.  It's like the Space Shuttle Funny blew an o-ring and took everyone with it, it's that bad.

We could turn this into a book thread.  That would improve it tremendously.

I picked up a couple books yesterday... read the first one cover-to-cover last night.  I got a copy of Billy Graham's last book from the library and I'm looking forward to reading it.  If that doesn't pan out, I can always catch up on my African history of the European colonial period prior to 1970.

Got my bingo cards, my pennies and a half bottle of sake. I'm only watching until 9 though. I gotta get to Fry St and meet friends for a few beers.

Now, bring on the pain.

I enjoy listening to him speak because he's an awesome orator.  I just wish it wasn't 99.9% bullshit.

How come Dems didn't talk about taking a pause from the harsh political arguing when they were calling Bush "Chimpy" and "war criminal?"  He's STILL using this shooting for his political gain.

I only listened to a little bit of Rush.  I know "Investment" is one of the bingo words.  What are the other ones?

A sample: Working families, bipartisanship, green, recovery, health care reform, sacrifice, job creation.
