Will's Tavern

There is a new group on FB for friends and fans of William Rivers Pitt. It is currently an open group to allow those from DU who want to commune with kindred spirits from the old days.

Will's death is very hard on many of us and it might be on you. If so, come on over.

OTOH, if you come over to relitigate any issues you had with him, you will likely be shown the door.

Will's Tavern on FB groups.

Would be fun to read the comments

The entire saga about Will Pitt, is something else.

The same people who moan and cry. The same people who put him up on a pedestal as a great mind. The same people who ask why he left the DUmp...  Are the same people who cant tolerate any difference of opinion. Im not defending Will Pitt, but it seems like he often rocked the boat a bit. Evidently a lot of DUmmys didnt like that. He left, or was banned depending on whos telling the story.

Lurking Muppets. You pushed him away, because you loved to hate him.

That will be great place.... FOR ME TO POOP ON!
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Somebody posted a link to DU's announcement about Pitt's death.  Here are some of the replies:

Wow. I have never been on DU, but what a fetid pool of ****.

Clicking that link was like the platonic ideal of "don't read the ****ing comments."

The horrible comments (which may or may not be Russian trolls) brought all of it back. I feel ill. Unclean. And thoroughly disgusted.  Thank you to all who welcomed me here. (Will was one of the first)  -Rev Cheesehead

Well, that reminded me of why I don't go there anymore. Excuse me, I need a shower.

I saw that yesterday. Sick ****s. No better than trumpers.

Quote
Same. Glad I am no longer there.

Used to get tombstoned every other week with socks after getting my original account banned for even criticizing Obama from the left.

Gosh. I've made like a thousand socks before quitting for good around 2014.

Gotta love how much they actually hate each other.  They are such miserable people.

I forget, wasn't Will Pitt the one who had a certain teaching incident which shall not be mentioned?
In either case, my condolences and prayers to his family and loved ones.
