OK. You are really ill and need long term care because your loved ones can't take care of you at home any more. The Laws steps in and takes over all of your assets to pay for your care ... in fact, if you have too many assets you will be denied. IS THIS REALLY HOW WE WANT TO TREAT OUR SICK OR ELDERLY?

One or two posters believe you should pay.  Not all, however.  These people are delusional, their collective brains have gone to infinity and beyond.

No, it isn't right that the state can seize someone's assets because they had to avail themselves of a social safety net. I also remember a time when ambulance rides were included in our taxes and not billed separately for $800 and up.

There a joke in here about make it a stiff one Laura but let's not go there. :rotf:   I have long believed there are going to be a lot of poor DUmmies who find out the planned windfall from the 'rents estate was going to be more like the wind from a bean supper.   :whistling:

Medicaid can be a nasty trap, they can even take your car.  "You don't need it, we'll drive you to the doctor's."  No they won't, the phone rings and rings and hangs up.  God, please don't ever ever let me be dependent on the government.

Yet another example of taxes are good until the DUmmies have to pay them.

I love money threads over there. Watching them twist themselves into knots trying to decide where the line should be drawn for ‘wealth’ and very few of them understanding how money and markets actually work.
