It's over and I was awake for the whole friggen thing and it did hurt. The anesthesiologist gave me some Versed and it didn't feel like he gave me anything. I was getting ready to ask for more when my doctor said it was over.
First the doctor put numbing drops in my eye (along with a bunch of other drops). He strapped me to a table (actually just taped my head down, I couldn't move it). Ithe lights were so bright I couldn't keep my eye open. Then he put that thing that keeps your eye open and it hurt. It almost felt like it was too big. He made his first incision then stuck a needle inside my eye to numb my iris. That part wasn't too bad. I kept getting really hot so they took all the blankets off me and turned down the A/C.
Then he inserted larger instruments to dissolve the cataract (ultrasound) then sucked it out. I think that part freaked me out the most. I could actually see him installing the new lense, it was freaky. After that was done he gave me two injections of steroids which have now produced two lovely bubble blobs on my eye.
At first I saw red out of that eye, then I could see that the colors looks different in my right vs left (white had a tint to it). my vision is blurry in that eye but my doctor said it would be, especially with the steroid injection.
Incase anyone wants to know the lense is:
