Title: A Couple of Win10/Edge Questions
Post by: SVPete on November 29, 2015, 02:59:00 PM
I have a new computer with Win10, and I'm using Edge, for now. One thing I've found in Favorites is that it includes "avatars" (don't know the correct term) with the websites in the list. Other browsers probably do much the same (I'm too lazy to look at Iron on my old computer). The problem is (and this, finally, is my point) some site's avatars are reasonably sized, some much larger but tolerable (specifically, Conservative Cave's), and one (so far) so ginormous that I had to delete it (it was that unusable!). Has anyone come across this and found a solution?

Edge also, apparently, doesn't like Conservative Cave's forum SW, and won't let me do "smilies" unless I enter them manually.

Anybody have some ideas? BTW, I don't have the SW chops to do Linux or attempt reverting to Win7, so those are non-starters for me.

This is the way it looks on my Windows 10, although I'm not using Windows 10 if I can avoid it, sticking with the regular trusty old Windows Explorer:

I sort of figured the larger avatar for this place was Microsoft's Seal of Approval for this site.

A Change of Pace Foundation (http://changeofpace.com/), a running/walking race organizer, is the site whose avatar is so ginormous in Favorites that it can't be used. It's a slight inconvenience, but I'm thinking it might not be unique, and other instances might be of greater significance.

Being unable to use CC's smilies and formatting buttons (e.g. bold or italic - I just did those tags manually - or video and image embedding functions) is of greater significance. I never had a problem with IE (a fairly modern version), Firefox, Opera, or Iron.
