A commenter gets it right on this headline:Texas blast victims likely won't lean on government

And subsequent story: The Red Cross, the Salvation Army, the Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars are all in West, Texas, to help victims of this month’s fertilizer explosion. They've collected tens of thousands of dollars, piles of clothes, toys and food.

It’s been almost chaotic, with volunteers piling in and shelters popping up everywhere. But instead of clamoring for the aid, many of the 3,000 or so residents of this small, central Texas town are instead fighting to help one another. That’s just as well in Texas, where the official government line is self-sufficiency.

“Right after the explosion happened that evening, there were shelters opened up all over the place,” said Ryan Adams, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council in West. “They originally evacuated the entire town. But those shelters were empty because we all help one another in our community. Most of the people that are displaced from their homes, being such a small, tight-knit community, they are staying with family. They are staying with friends.”

How many internal contradictions can you stuff into 1 post?

1. Free lancing is what created the disaster in the first place

Time to celebrate the culture that made it all possible. Life as a cartoon, I guess. Meantime, there has been a similar outpouring for the victims in Boston, but that doesn't fit the red/blue narrative. What both incidents shed a spotlight on is our cruel and backwards health care system which the anti-gubmint crowd refuses to fix...

It complains that "life is a cartoon" but it assigns blame on nothing more than it's emotional desire for the blast to be the fault of stupid RWers. It then complains about the red/blue narrative but then asserts -- per the red/blue narrative -- that the health care system the dems own 100% by their desire and their design is the fault of the RWers who refuse to fix the dems's mess.

DUmmie BeyondComprehension has no comprehension, not a trace.  It can't seem to figure out that government is the PROBLEM, not the SOLUTION, and is too stupid to attempt to look at the problem from that perspective.

After seeing most Hurricane sandy Victims are STILL homeless after 6 months, the Texas victims probably realized it just didn't pay to expect govt to come to their aid.

The primitives seem upset that folks didn't demand and receive government aid.
They're even upset that the citizens self-reliance was even reported.

5. Well, there goes the reliability of NBC.  :bawl:

They had it for a fleeting moment in Boston...and now, pheht, like that, it's extinguished.

News channels are like Project Runway contestants. One day you're in, and the next, you're out. It must suck to be them because they don't even get a kiss from Heidi Klum.
They're so cute when they spin in circles.  :rotf:

Just a handful of replies at the DUmp.  But, outside of the hive-within-a-bubble, there's plenty of buzz and chatter at the NBC site.  The liberals come off as real assholes.

Sounds like they're upset at NBC for not making political hay out of the Texas explosion.

Yeah, what's the deal with that "collapsed by the community?"  You can still see them by clicking the + sign, most of the collapsed were conservative in nature.  But then again, my guesstimate is that 70% or so of the overall comments were conservative.  There was nothing offensive about what Snugs posted above.

It's weird how people providing for themselves is seen as a slap against the government the Proglodytes depend on but a Muslim can perform the exact same feat and it's deemed as the greatest humanitarian gesture ever.

Because, as we all know, preventative, single-payer, government-provided health care has been shown to prevent fertilizer explosions  and pressure cooker Jihadists.

Pure PR and scared of the backlash.

But they can't fix "STUPID".

No.  (D)Ullards are out of luck, along with brains.

Right wingers look out for each other....left wingers look out to see if the government is coming.

There is a correlation between that and how malls and parks are left after a rally by both groups.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
