Oh my.

The burdened primitive, the "socialist" from Michigan who was laid off from his job as a clerk in an auto-parts store last year, and who's finding it difficult, at the age of nearly 55 years, to get a new one.  One sympathizes with the job-hunting part, excepting the burdened primitive doesn't seem to be going at it very hard.

I no longer respect discriminatory or bigoted "genuinely held beliefs."

Being Gay is NOT EVIL. My friends dead from "Reagan's Plaque" were not evil. My CPO in the Navy, my dear friend Milagro, was not evil. My friends at the "Oar House" in Norfolk WERE NOT EVIL.

They were not, and those that are still with us, ARE NOT EVIL.

They DO NOT NEED CURING.

If they are Christians (as most were) Jesus loves them just the same and does not wish them to change.

If Barack Obama first tells me that he WILL NOT let this man spouting BIGOTRY in the name of Jesus to be Master of Ceremonies, I'll believe him; then when it happens anyway, Obama is a LIAR. When this same man is not REFUTED by Obama, who then says we just all have to RESPECT EACH OTHERS' (****ING) OPINIONS.....(my ****ING COMMENT)then Obama has condoned BIGOTRY.

These items are not up for debate.

UNLESS he repudiates, I WILL NOT support him. I WILL NOT put his sign on my lawn. I WILL vote for him if he is the nominee and I can conscience it, of which I will have to decide when the time comes.

These items are not negotiable.

The LGBT community has shown me LOVE and ACCEPTANCE when I got NONE from ANYONE ELSE, INCLUDING my extended family. To betray that is despicable.

It was put much better by Edward Morgan Forster

"If I had to choose between betraying my country and betraying my friend, I hope I should have the guts to betray my country."-Edward Morgan Forster (member of the Cambridge "Apostles" and the Bloomsbury Group. Brilliant, homosexual, writer, author of "A Room With a View")

The burdened primitive blames his downfall, in his career, on being laid off from a good job in Texas (after which he moved back to Michigan), on Ronald Reagan, the first George Bush, and the current George Bush.

The burdened primitive says he was laid off from there in.....1978.

One wonders who was president in 1978.

Anyway.

1. which repudiation do you stand by? repudiation out of belief, or repudiation out of convenience?

2. If I believed everyone that disagrees with me were evil, I'd be a recluse.

Yes, McClurkin is an ass. Yes, Obama was wrong to give him a platform.

But that horse died months ago.

3. Wouldn't say that to the LGBT community.

A lot of people both inside and outside that community feel it acutely. And are REALLY PISSED OFF about it.

4. Like hell.

It'll never be dead to those of us who feel intensely BETRAYED by someone that we thought would empathize with us. He's a fellow member of a minority group, right? So many of us *still* haven't gotten over that sickening sense of betrayal, of being traded for a few fundie votes.

What pisses me off the most are his desperate hand-wringing supporters, looking for something, ANYTHING to blame, trying to say that we GLBT people that despise Obama are secretly racists. I can't speak for every GLBT person in the world, but I can speak for the ones I know and love, and we are NOT racists. We've been kicked in the teeth too damned many times by bigots to want to become bigots ourselves. I just can't stop being infuriated over the way that man sold us down the river.

I don't think Obama is a homophobe or a bigot himself, but when he knowingly associates his campaign with that kind of disgusting right-wing rhetoric, how can ANYONE expect us to sit here and say nothing?

If he loses this primary, it might be the best thing for him. Then in 2016, he can get his priorities in proper order again, and remember that he cannot insult a big chunk of his base for the sake of reaching out to a few religious nuts in a state that no Dem is likely to win anyway.

Oh my.

I think the burdened primitive and the octopus brain primitive are beating a dead horse.

My comment is a tad off topic, but just wanted to point out, that if you are Christian, Jesus wants you to change.  I'm not talking about gay- straight, or anything particular, but as Christians, we are ALL supposed to change, on a daily basis, and become more Christ like.  Yes, Jesus loves us, despicable sinners that we are, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want us to change.
