Those 9 Warriors Killed In Afghanistan
« on: July 16, 2008, 08:29:30 PM »
http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=56200

Were in the process of packing their gear and returning to their home post.

They were members of the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Airborne Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade.

Now we know why we vacated the outpost.

My oldest son spent 3 years with Chosen Company, 2/503rd.  One year of that was during the brigade's previous tour of duty in Afghanistan.  He may have known some of those who were KIA.

I'd like to know how many of those bastards were killed by our guys. Why don't they report it? :censored:

You could probably double that number and be more accurate.

I won't disagree.  The media is oft inclined to be anti US military.  Been that way for decades.

I don't know the first thing about waging war, I did read "Lone Survivor" so I know the terrain is treacherous and the terrorists have the advantage. So my question is why don't we use those little spy planes/drones to track the movement of the Taliban?

That one stopped being even sensitive some time ago IIRC.  It went public in 2003.

I don't know the first thing about waging war,

I bet you do.

What will you do if you personally or one of your loved ones are attacked?

Will you kill in defense of yourself or your kids?

Not really a good definition. Say there's a group of thugs that move next door and they send one at a time, about every 3 nights, to come to her house. What does she do when the cops, in this case the U.N.  :whatever: , does nothing? She gets fed up and goes next door and ends those ****ers right there.

Cpl Jason D Hovater was from here. He was said to be a very happy, thoughful person who loved to have a good time. He was proud of being a soldier and serving his country.

His parents and beautiful young wife were on the local news last night.

He and his wife had plans to go backpacking through Ireland when he got home. He was due home fairly soon.

Both his wife and his parents said he believed in what he was doing and they were obviously most proud of him. His Mom said he's now with God and the angels looking down on them and taking care of them.

Brought me to tears.....

May God Bless welcome them to his army of angels and watch over their families and friends as they go through this difficult time.

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

Then you have a base understanding of war.

War, when you boil it down to it's base element is killing to protect that which you love.

I disagree. Not all wars waged are waged by people trying to protect what they love.
