It was reported that one of the two was here illegally because they had stopped going to class.

I like this one;

 I urge everyone to write to Dean Grossman of Umass and tell her what you think about their privacy policy concerning these illegal immigrants/terrorist. Here is the link: http://www1.umassd.edu/directory/welcome.cfm?f=&rn=61&q=&fl=G&sclm=n&pa=#61

I don't have a problem with UMass' decision.

While these so-called "students" appear to be terrorist aiders and abettors, the fact remains they are SUSPECTED of these crimes at this point. If they are convicted of these crimes, I'd prefer that they be lined up against a wall and shot like the treasonous ****sticks that they are, but that will come later -- maybe.

Law enforcement can subpoena these records, and will no doubt do so. That's the important part.

The public does not have a RIGHT to this information at this stage. These punks are suspected of crimes, but they're not yet convicted of them.

They do have a right to privacy and it's wise for UMass to recognize that.

Looks like different interpretations of the law.

Quote
  Mass Bay Community College and Bunker Hill Community College released financial aid information on both brother suspects on Tuesday, showing Tamerlan Tsarnaev benefitted from $5,566 in aid.

“We released them because reporters asked,” said Matthew Wilder, spokesman for the Executive Office of Education. “We believe we’re well within our legal rights to release the information that we did.”

It appears Umass was not complying with the law.

I don't understand how you can draw the conclusion that UMass "was not complying with the law" regarding release of information.

The article you linked referenced the suspect's immigration issues. How does that square with release of their UMass scholastic records?

I did note with interest that two of the punks haven't even been charged with a crime yet.

I did not make clear my point which is they apparently did not notify immigration about the suspect Kadyrbayev being expelled from the school. I know first hand liberals do not like complying with the law especially if they disagree with the law. Looks to me like they pick and choose laws to follow.

I agree.  At this point the authorities can subpoena the information, but there isn't really anything to be gained by releasing it to the public.

Megan Kelly was talking about this tonight.  She said it's a federal law re: the students rights to privacy, but the the police can get the info, and probably already have.

My thinking is that the feds might find some other links to follow in the records and it might be better if it doesn't become public information too soon.
