twenty-one truly upsetting vintage recipes

Oh my.

The primitives on Skins's island are passing this around, perhaps because some of it reflects their, uh, peculiar culinary tastes.

There's tuna-and-jello pie, ham and bananas Hollandaise, hot dog fondue, and it gets worse.

Recipes and photographs at the link; nothing that can be easily copied-and-pasted here for a sample.

Not going there.....I'm still fond of eating.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

I wouldn't call them upsetting but disgusting.

I think the real question is, did anyone make that stuff and actually eat it???

If the gals on the feminazi forum see picture for the "banana candle" recipe, they're going to have an aneurysm.

The only one I would consider trying is the Spam and Lima beans.

Wasn't there some mention of Hellman's and Best Food mayonnaise being the same company in another thread a while back?

Nothing can compare to Pam Dawson's vomit enchiladas.

Do you guys remember that?
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

Growing up, a special treat was hot dogs stuffed with cheese, wrapped in bacon and broiled.  Lord help me if I ate them now.

I think the Banana Candle is the first cousin to Dame Edna's Pineapple and Sausage Surprise:

What's wrong with cheese, bacon and a hot dog???

I like all three, but those things came out a greasy hot mess.  That was our living in high cotton meal.  I can taste it!  I gotta believe I feel my arteries clog just thinking about it!
