What do you use?

I use E-Sword. It's free, convenient, and I can access everything in one program on my computer. I have a concordance, Webster's 1828 dictionary, some commentaries (Matthew Henry, Treasury of David by CH Spurgeon), maps and timelines. I can type up notes as well right there on e-sword instead of bringing up like MS Word.

You can get various translations, all these different things, but some you have to pay for.

It's great and easy.

I have esword and a ton of add-ons. I think it is a good tool but I seem to perfer the old fashon leather covered text. As you mentioned good program though.

I have a Luke-Acts class coming up, and I've been looking for something that I can insert notes into quickly without switching to another document.

I'm going to check this out.  Thanks.

I use the YouVersion Bible app on my Nexus.  I don't know about the E-sword, and was wondering the same thing myself.

A good third party source for esword is here..  http://www.biblesupport.com/

Lots of downloads for free, mainly resources in the public domain but still quite useful. There are also macros that link microsoft word to the program for notes and lesson plans. I wish you well in your class, what commentaries are you using?

Sorry, I must have missed your post back in November.  

We are not using any commentaries outright.  The first portion of the class was limited to inductive study, while the entire class has an overall concentration on the charismatic theology of Luke-Acts.
