Interesting encounter in rural Alabama

I am in Monroeville Alabama, the place that is the real world location of to kill a mockingbird.

Was getting breakfast at Hardee's when a white dude who must have been in his seventies asked me who I thought would win the election out of the blue.

I told him I think it will be Harris. The Dobbs decision has made many women angry. Saying that they want to go after gay marriage is hurting the Republicans with young people. Everyone has a gay friend or relative who us married now and young people are not going back.

He nodded and said "I think you are right."

Drive around town to see the locations that were copied in the movie. Not a single sign for TFG anywhere. Only a couple of Harris signs but in rural economically depressed Alabama, the complete lack of the felons signs or even vehicles with MAGA on them was very encouraging.

Been all over the south for work since The beginning of the summer. Not seeing a lot of open support for the felon.

That there story yer tellin' is cool, bro. Tell 'er agin.

Dear DUmphouse Forum,

I just happen to be in the exact setting of all liberal jerkoff fantasies, and I just happened to be minding my own business when an elderly southern man approached me out of the blue and asked who I think will win the election. Turns out this guy AGREED with my assessment of the election based completely on values that .0000000023% of elderly, small town southern men are likely to have.

Turns out he didn't want to watch me insert a broom handle in my anus behind the dumpster, but it was a thrilling encounter just the same.

Sincerely,
John Q. Didnthappen

Indeed they are.

Did he also invite you to make moonshine and wrastle alligators that night as well?  :bs:

I just hope to God we win and don’t have another election stolen at the last minute. :thatsright:

After the last 4 years of watching the country go down the toilet I’m really hoping for a landslide victory.

Don't hope for it.

Be there at the precinct as it closes. I think these clowns need another 1946 Battle of Athens, TN experience to remind them they're not as in charge as they think they are. :therock:

I can't tell you the number of times that a complete stranger has walked up and asked me who will win.

Ok, actually I can. ZERO.

I would remind you of Nixon's landslide second win. They still found a way to put the boots to him.  Never let your guard down should be the motto, liberals have many ways to screw you.

So (the proper intro for a :bouncy: ), yesterday I rooted through and marked up my local sample ballot and then marked my actual ballot, the latter while playing a game of China Rails with my daughter (a good :bouncy: includes semi irrelevant details, to sound like it happened). I looked at the priorities of the two candidates for the country's board of education, and both were properly Prog, citing "Safety" and "Equity". It doesn't take brilliance to realize that, taken together, skin color and other identities will alter disciplinary measures for particular offenses. IOW, real safety will be slaughtered on the altar of "Equity". More interesting to me than the obligatory Prog blather was what was missing (is this true-:bouncy: approaching the proper verbosity of a good :bouncy: ?). Neither candidate for the county board of education had a word in their priorities about ... wait for it ...... academics.

So, I voted for Snoopy Beagle. Because I'm conservative, not cops jumped out of bushes and no bystanders clapped when I deposited out ballots in the drop-off box.

I count at least 4 lies in that one sentence.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I tried going over there, but I just can't take them today.  Every other phrase is "Nazi hate fest" regarding the MSG rally.  I noticed on most of each thread, there are only a handful of replies.  None of those bonfires that they do.  I can't find Sympthsical or Forged Crank anywhere.  It's like the security guards abandoned the asylum.

Maybe some DU-Denizens remember where the 1924 DNC was held and for what it is infamous?

I mean, who are the liberals actually talking to at this point? No one is going to listen to "nazi rally" and decide not to vote for Trump. It just makes them look insane, so if anything it'll toss a couple more white woman votes to Trump.
