I just voted. My observation:
We tried to vote Tuesday and went to two different early voting places that were jammed. Parking was even a problem not just what looked like a long wait. In my old age I'm developing hip and back issues and walking from a distant parking spot or standing in a queue for a long time is not something I want to do.

So today we chose a location that was not as close. It's a rec center away from the most frequented parts of our local area. We got there right at opening time and were able to walk in with no waiting. The election workers were all very friendly. I asked the lady who helped me if they had been busy the last couple of days and she said they had been slammed. I'm going to guess that the heavy voting here is a good sign. This is a very blue county and dems will do well here. It would be nice if in the red parts of the state dems there would get off their duffs and overwhelm the righties.

Now that that's done, I can worry about other things like what we're going to have for dinner tonight.

I’ll be voting in a few hours in Texas as well. I’ll send my observations when I’m done.

I will have to wait until after my surgery on Monday and see how well I feel before I go to the polls. I might still drag my butt out to vote anyway. It will only be 8 days later anyway.

I voted. Took close to an hour in line to spend 2 minutes to vote.

There were people there. There were cars in the parking lots and in the street. There were poll workers … working.

The building was white and there were some handicapped people there.

I used my passport card for ID because it’s really hard to get my drivers license out of my wallet and one of the poll workers had never seen one.

They made a woman turn her phone off. The machines worked.

I was thirsty but I braved through.

That’s it. That’s my report from “On the ground” in SETX.

I vomited voted.

I work across state lines, about 4 hours from my house in Galt's Gulch, so I vote with a mail-in ballot. I slogged my way thru my morning task list, then broke out my ballot on my lunch break. Going down the list of races, the little imp on my left shoulder had me seriously tempted to cast my vote for Kackle-hoe Hairs (the fact that she owns a Glock when everybody else in Commiefornia is forbidden from even looking at one was a strong argument in her favor), but I regret to say that I could not overcome my basic cowardice (I work in the same state that tossed that bastion of principle and honesty - Liz Cheney - out on her ass, after all) and so I succumbed to the peer pressure of voting for 4 more years of Donaldus Magnus and the MAGAts.

And then the crowd around me applauded, a cop jumped out of the bushes and flying unicorns swooped down, farting rainbows and shitting Skittles upon the entire assemblage...  :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah:

In Texas They don’t have an option for a straight ticket anymore or it would have taken less than 30 seconds to hit the R button.

Wow, that’s really exciting. I want to come and vote with you!  :-).

I mailed my ballot in, but the grass is green and nicely trimmed around the mailbox.
