Romantic songs...
« on: April 22, 2009, 11:14:12 PM »
I'll admit my first choice is a bit unconventional but just take that as license to post whatever you like.

If it's not classically romantic but means something to you personally just put it up, no explanation needed. Just another song thread with pretty loose rules. (However, if your "romantic" song is the Subway "5 dollar foot long" ad I will do everything in my not inconsiderable power to have you banned from the internet forever)

Leonard Cohen - I'm your man

"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

A rare treat.  Janis Joplin singing an actual non-manic song.....one of my favorites

I wonder what American Idols would have thought about her.

Fiona Apple does Elvis Costello's "I Want You".
