The video I posted has more than 3 million views and is making Prince out to be a guitar god.

You're probably right. I know. It's frustrating as hell.

If we're gonna do GUITAR, then let's do GUITAR.

This ain't screaming guitars, but you've gotta be dead not to have those chills run up your spine.

The English horn solo sets up the guitar beautifully, and the rest is pure art.

When you get done listening to that, then listen to this:

Between the two pieces, there are some pretty decent (not great) guitar solos intertwined:

and then the transition to this piece:

On the CD, one can barely tell where one ends and the other begins.....

Please take a moment and listen to the Al Jarreau clip as well. It's a great example of how fusion in Jarreau's own style pays homage to the classics.

Euph, here's my version of the greatest guitar player ever, Doc Watson:

Even if you hate country music, listen to this guy get around the guitar.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

I don't know much about the players, but I LOVE bluegrass (which this is -- not so much country, methinks). Anyway, to me bluegrass and the closely-associated Irish music (reels, dances, jigs, etc.) is the HAPPIEST of music.

Gotta love that!  :cheersmate:

One of my favorite Lesser Known guitarists

I stand atop a spiral stair
An oracle confronts me there
He leads me on light years away
Through astral nights, galactic days
I see the works of gifted hands
That grace this strange and wondrous land
I see the hand of man arise
With hungry mind and open eyes
