And the last one on my playlist for this day.  Strange that all the songs saluting the good things in the US are country songs, and most of the singers are from the south.

I like quite a selection of rock from the 70's and even some from the 60's.  Since I posted those last ones for Memorial Day, I stuck with that theme, and most songs that fit patriotic holidays just happen to be country.

Not bad for a live version.

"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

Just joking thundley, just joking. Ray Charles has a partiotic tune to two to his credit, BTW.  That "We have both kinds, Country AND Western!" is a punch line from an old joke that dates from the 50's, at least.

It was also used in the Blues Brothers.  :lmao:

I've been listening to Mike Garson, Oxnard Sessions Vol 1. I picked it up at a used record/Cd store while on my "stint" of jury duty...........for 2.99.

One of my favorites tracks is "Wind Beneath My wings".  Mr Garson is an audio fanantic, and it shows in his recordings. The detail and depth of the soundstage is excellent. It probably has one of the deepest I've heard in a long time. The drum kit sounds, at times, well behind the wall behind my speakers. Brushed cymbals are exquisite. You have to hear it to believe it.
It's not often that I find an "audiophile" recording that actually has music on it that I want to listen to. But this album is a joy. The music is very "organic" and elicits strong emotions. Good stuff.
I'm going to buy his album "Jazz Hat". It's getting rave reviews.

Here' a little something from YouTube:

Her videos really are wild :o trip  :rotf:  She has quite a few great ones!  I think the one where she's mocking her brother is the best though.  :lmao:
