An unexpected blessing

One doesn't have to be Catholic to appreciate a more benign product of America now presented to the world. This is a powerful and very welcome counterpoint. In all sincerity, may Leo XIV be a continuing reassurance.

Why do the DUmmies, who defended a crucifix in a jar of piss as "art," act so invested in the Pope?

I wish they'd go back to being consistent assholes instead of weird, unpredictable assholes.

As long as they think it bothers Trump, this Pope isn't a "christofascist"... at least today.
First time he says something that bucks their political realm, it'll be right back to the sum of their hatred. They are incapable of thinking any other way

Because the last one was the next best thing to a full blown Marxist and they have their wee DUmp'Rat fingers crossed that the new one is in the same vein.  :whatever:

Seriously...the website of atheists who refer to God as "Flying Spaghetti Monster" are suddenly hi-fiving about a new Pope like they had a preference in the matter. As they say at the Vatican when referring to American liberals: "Mentula es."

Did they pick a new Pope?  Hasn’t been something I’m following. Hell, didn’t know the last one died for a few days.

I don’t know if I’m in the minority in that or not and don’t really care.

The Pope doesn’t matter to me and the real Catholics I know didn’t change their politics because of the old Pope.

This does make me wonder though … the Pope who just wandered off into the woods … Is he still alive?  Did he outlive this one?

They're ASSuming that Leo XIV will be as hostile to Trump as was Francis. Maybe he will, and maybe, having lived in both the US and Peru, Leo XIV won't.

My hope, as an outsider, is that Leo will focus on following Scripture, discipling Catholic believers, and cleaning out any remaining abusers.

The DUchebags are happy because the new pope is a bigger commie globalist than Pope Frankie. I am not Catholic but IMHO this guy is going to take the church farther down the road to ruin.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

If I was a Cardinal? (Is that who votes for the Pope?  Or is it bishops?)

Anyway, if they’ve picked a Pope this quickly, they messed up. Just think about the trip you could have had and the stories you could have told.

“Man, there I was faced off with 4 other priests that disagreed with me when I grabbed a chalice …”

 :rotf:

But it does bring up a question I’ve never thought of, and shouldn’t have to think of.

How woke is the Catholic Church?  What if a nun comes out as trans?  Can she be Pope?

People want to know. I’m people.

Excommunicating Biden and Peolsi would be a step in the right direction and help resurrect the failing church.

We may get the answers to those questions.  The last guy talked pretty liberal on several issues, refugees and climate change off the top of my head.  If the interpretations of end times prophecy that put the Catholic Church transforming into the False Prophet's one world church are correct (not impossible, but not one I'd bet the farm on) going woke to the point of a transgender Pope would be a huge leap in that direction.

My limited knowledge of the current state of most Catholics says overall, the Catholic Church is still a ways from accepting such a huge change.  But, just here, we still have a lot of politicians with smudges on their foreheads Ash Wednesday while voting for plenty of woke stuff on Maundy Thursday.

Just like politics, most religion is local. While I'm sure most Catholics accept the Pope as being infallible in matters of faith, they don't hang on his every word, nor do they adhere completely to the doctrine of the Church. People go to Mass, then go home and do tons of shit that the Church regards as sinful. It's not hypocrisy - the Church is not there to tell you how to live (that's what the Democrat party is for). The Church is, literally, community, and those who go to it may generally be divided according to whether they're following a RELIGION, or a CREED (different things).

What idiot asshole liberals cannot and will never understand is that many people attend Mass as a way to experience community and become closer to, and more acquainted with, God. It's an intensely personal experience that is valid even if one doesn't follow every encyclical to the letter. Liberals don't have a satisfying, wholesome way to experience community; that's why they're such miserable bastards. Their idea of community is the State, which is literally the antithesis of the experience of Religion.

What the liberals are trying to do with this new Pope is to use his publicly-stated views to conflate and confuse the Church (which they hate) with the State (which they love), so people will see no difference between the two and accept one as readily as the other. This will fizzle out just like everything else, since the liberals will never understand that the State can never be a replacement for the individual experience of Creed or Religion.

All of that said, **** off and die, DUmmies.

They'll be changing their tunes very soon:
