How did you Find out About DU?

Kind of just a general DU question that Ive wondered.. How did you find out about DU? What made you stay and start to post.

Me personally, last year I was doing a project on political activists online. I just searched for online message boards for democrats and this came up.I joined so I can study what goes on here, and it was during the 06 elections. I ended up coming back about five months later, lurked for a little more and then started to post and really get into it. I probably accumulated a hundred posts in a couple days so I could post a topic and get some respect, because it really does mean something here to have 1000 + posts.

Most of the primitives seem to have found Skins's island, specially created to lasso them in, keep them out of the public eye, by zig-zagging from one incendiary Hate site to another, and ended up on the beach.

9. I was very new to the internet...

And somehow I was just moving along through different websites, following link after link, looking for something interesting...

I don't even remember now...

I searched through several, looking around...

And when I came here, I paused...

After lurking for a couple of months back in 2004, I started hanging out here all the time...

Finally joined in Feb 2005...

Never looked back!

Just celebrated 50K posts a couple of days ago...

This place is my home, my electronic home!

Many people I met here are now real life friends...

Belonging to DU has changed my life...

like a virtual internet lobster trap!  :-)

I wonder often about that most prolific poster, "name removed."

God alone suffices.

Yeah, and it's a suck-up to Lord Marblehead, the most worthless of the Big Three there.

For my fellow alum Skins, and the elusive enigmatic Elad, I have nothing but the utmost respect, but for the third of the three, Lord Marblehead, while I'm a nice guy, one of the nicest guys one can ever hope to meet, I find the British national loathesome.

He's one of these foreigners who came to America, and even before the soles of his shoes were dry, decided he knew all there was to know, about America and Americans.

A toff, EarlG.  A prig.  A cad.  Not a nice person at all.  No redeeming social value.

I keep waiting for the first truthful poster who says, "I was on the internet during computer time at the mental hospital when I discovered a hive of like-minded mentally impaired individuals..."
