We're already seeing the effects of net neutrality.

vBulletin is saying the problem is with the upgrade to the server software.

Our ISP said to contact vBulletin, you know the routine. Personally I go with vB
as the board was fine till the ISP did the upgrade.

Now the data is still there and the board software is still there, I can see both.
They just won't talk to each other.

The upgrade to cPanel triggered a upgrade to PHP and Apache server. MySQL
is now up to version 10.X. They just won't all talk to each other.

I may have to upgrade vB, not sure yet.

You need to get it a Life Alert, "I've fallen and I can't get up!"

It looks like it isn't vB being incompatible with the new server software but parts of
the new server software being incompat with each other.

In either case we are down and no one seems to have an answer right away.

Ouch.

But at any rate, I hope someone has a solution reasonably quick.

Looks like vB found the problem. I need PHP 5.3 not 5.5.

So as long as the ISP can go to 5.3 we should be back.

LOL!! Spoke too soon!!

PHP 5.3 is end of life so the ISP won't install it on the server, we will
have to stay with 5.5.

But that means I will need to install a newer version of vBulletin, not the
news I wanted. This will take some time.

SR is consoling himself with a cup of tiramasu ice cream. He's really tired, will start again in the am. That's my non-technical update. I'll start my usual wail pretty soon--"I hate computers"--unless they're working. Good thing SR can get me out of jams. I try going to fast and always goof things.

How can we stay conservative when we have to keep progressing to new software? This is heresy!

I'll start gathering what I need today, there is a Skin vendor I need to contact
to make sure they still have the ones I need.

The board will probably be down a while as we are also getting ready
for a snowbird move up to St.Louis but at least this happened BEFORE
we moved.

Sorry for the outage everyone but this one was going to happen, it was
just a matter of when.

To my surprise and pleasure we are back up!

The upgrade worked. There are some new options that I can't
tell much about yet but if you get hung up looking for the Forum Home
hit the Big Tab at the top left that says Forum.

It's a new version, so I don't really know all the answers yet...

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

That is what my page opened to.

However, it's done that since I registered and it's the link I have bookmarked.

LOL!!

There was a problem, they changed things in 4.2.3 which is not a surprise. I'm surprised
that all the addons and Skins are mostly working just fine.

The opening page and "Home" are working again as they should.
