Nadin Resume Update
« on: July 28, 2012, 11:47:58 PM »
OP is about the face shield design the American fencers are wearing in London.  Out of nowhere, Nads adds "high level" fencer to her resume.

Impractical as hell. The best mask, for visibility, is hpjust white.

Yup, did once fence at a pretty high level and still have my foil. I drill with it from time to time, great exercise.

Oh and the inpractical part goes for all involved.

Why do I have a funny feeling that the only fencing she has ever done involves car radios?

There is nothing that the great oracle Nadin has not done.

Sure, she is too fat to tie her own shoes. There is no way in hell she could fit into a fencing uniform and have a 'great' exercise with it.

The image of that bald little gnome dancing around with a foil cracks me up.

Anyone in a sword fight with the crazy bald dwarf would need to wear shin guards.

Can't wait for her fan club to spot this thread.

I know.

Just sitting here shaking my head, Frank.  It just defies logic on so many levels.

That contraption reminds me of the first inside Laser Tag building to come to the Norfork area.

I took the kids there a time or two very expensive to play so most of the time we spent on a balcony watching the action below.    Best time we had was an evening when some Navy Seals came in to play,   wow, those kids were awesome.

IIRC on the balcony there were a few machines like a machine gun, the watchers could for coins rent them for a set number of minutes and fire down on the unsuspecting combatants.

I wonder why this sport has never been televised with teams made up of civilians vs the military, or police.
Military vs. other branches as in the football Army vs. Navy games.

Truly unbelievable.

Isn't it though.

One of these days, probably by accident, nadin's going to say something about herself that's true, but because she's lied so much, no one's going to believe her.

Someone PLEASE tell Nads that MY grandson has been a  Fencer since he was 16 years old.

He has worked with some of the best fencers in the area for years.  He is a landscaper that means he digs fence post holes  and lugs off trucks hundreds of pounds of wire or wood fencing.  Like Nads he practices from time to time, put up a fence for his mother and his foil is his gloves.

Now as another poster said I do know some people that have kids that fence anything from their grandmas jewelery to baby buggy's left on someones porch.

Things we have to look for with Nads,    Trained at the Cordon Bleu , close friend with top chefs.
Stunt driver in the movies, Horse wrangler, Trapeze Artist,  DC Lobbyist, top San Diego Madam who ran a escort service.   Jack off of all trades and master of none.

It's too long; how about instead compiling a list of things nadin alleges she hasn't been?

I took two semesters of fencing in college. it was a blast and I won the #1 seat my final day in the 2nd semester.
That said, I've see people who have done this for YEARS. They are a blur. I am slow, and real fencers are blindingly fast. I am a dabbler and would never survive against even a casual devotee of the art.

Nadin is wrong...as usual.
The athlete does not even notice the colors when he wears the mask, visibility is just fine.

Took a fencing class once as well and watch it in the Olympics. I never saw a white face shield. The shroud part was white but the part over the face was black.

The only "high level fencing" ol' Nads has done, I suspect, might be putting a retaining wall onto a cliff, to keep DUmb****s and other idiots from falling over.
