They have this nut case in custody, correct? It will probably take a few days but I am guessing we are going to have all kinds of insight into who this guy really is. It appears that he is a smart educated person, what would motivate him to do something so outrageous. I suppose everyone has a breaking point and when they finally go off there is no way of knowing which way the pieces are going to go. The weapons he used were legally purchased, as was the ammo, imagine that.
The grabbers will be screaming for tougher laws but what law would have stopped the killings? You can't deprive 80 million gun owners of their constitutional rights or magically remove 300 million guns from circulation. From what I read his apartment is a mine field. He could have just as easily used a bomb and leveled the entire facility, killing many more than what he did. Even psychological screenings are not that effective. He may have been able to talk his way through such a screening or maybe there was nothing wrong with him and the day to day stress finally took it's toll and he just lost it. Maybe we will never know. I feel for the families and anyone else who was affected by this. I hope that their wounds heal quickly, both emotional and physical and the shooter is quickly brought to justice.
