The mayor of Dublin, Georgia, is expected to sign an ordinance Tuesday that prohibits the wearing of saggy pants. Violators face fines up to $200.

How utterly stupid is that.  You have to walk, holding your pants up.  I swear, I wish I had a big ole loud air horn, and something else, so when I saw those jack asses, I would blow it, and they would take off running, then their pants would slide down, and they would trip and fall.  That would be pretty cool.

Actually .... it makes them look gay (or a 'punk' in prison terminology).  They don't realize it and you can't convince them of it but this all started in the prisons.  The 'punks' would wear their pants low like that to let the other convicts know they were 'available'.

You are correct. I knew about that. I wasn't sure if that was the reason or if the reason was, they got handed whatever clothes they had and had to make due with it.

I like the news articles where the cops are chasing some punk with his pants like that and then the pants fall down while they are running and they fall and bust their ass and the cops catch them.

Goldurnit!  You let the secret out.  Moles working for law enforcement have encouraged the LED sneakers fad (failed), firing handguns sideways (people who can't hit anything 'cept by chance become worse shots), and oversize baggy pants that fall down, making suspects easier to catch.
