Anyone else think that hidden within the teleprompter criticism is an implication

that Obama is dumb? And that maybe, perhaps some sort of racial stereotyping is driving this criticism?

Many people in the media wouldn't risk straight out saying Obama's stupid, but this teleprompter "issue" provides a defensible means of making the same point.

For the life of me, I can't remember ever hearing during Bush's presidency how Bush used teleprompters. I just found out recently that the words on his telemprompters had to be spelled out phonetically for him. Why was it a non-issue for Bush, but such a big deal for Obama?

No it's not a hidden criticism it real, and yes he is dumb.

It's not a racist thing, it has nothing to do with race it's all about his lack of ability.

Maybe it's just me, but it looks to me like it would take a racist individual to jump to the conclusion that anyone who thinks that 0 is dumb thinks such only because 0 is black. Or partially black. I would think that maybe the individual who jumps to such a conclusion subconsciously thinks that blacks are dumb and is projecting.

Racist thinking is about not allowing a man such as Obama the ability to be called stupid simply because being somewhat black disqualifies him from what the rest of are subjected. I don't think Obama is stupid at all - I DO however think that his entire life is scripted and rehearsed, and that everything he says is carefully planned, polled and tested beforehand.

Because he wants to be the messiah you so badly need him to be.

When he goes off-script, it shows he is a human, and therefore imperfect.

Well, Bush never tried to pawn himself off to the nation as the greatest orator since Socrates, the greatest leader since Lincoln and the greatest savior since Jesus Christ. We aren't allowed to see Obama's college records, though every other president and candidate is an open book. So, when one of the little cracks in his armor shows that he's simply a puppet who interchangeably has Rahm Emmanuel or George Soro's hand up his ass it's going to make news. Obama and the media have created an image. You bought it hook line and sinker. His foreign policy bungles and inability to speak without help pretty much show by the time his 4 years are up (and probably before), Bush was a genius compared the the Affrimative Action Halfrican president.

This is totally bullshit. This is an urban legend they WANT to be true. The man went to Harvard for crying out loud and he was the Governor of Texas. Yeah, he may speak with an accent and he may have butchered some words, who doesn't from time to time, but he did not have things spelled out phonetically on the teleprompter.

AND DUmmies, the reason you didn't hear much about Bush's teleprompter was because he didn't carry it around with him. 'O' uses his at his PARTIES for crying out loud.

I guess there are shades of stupid vs. intelligent. What I would want from a POTUS is a more curious mind. For example, instead of stopping at Saul Alinsky, he would feel compelled to pick up the Federalist Papers and study them, when faced with such a daunting job. What are some opposing economic views from respected sources such as Sowell, Friedman and Hayek? Why do they have followers? What is Stephen Moore saying in the WSJ?

We don't see such things from Obama, so I reject the "brilliance" and vote more toward "idiocy."

Barack Hussien Obama recently mispronounced "Orion" repeatedly while on the teleprompter. Some have suggessted that the teleprompter should have a pronounciation key now, that's where this garbage regarding Bush comes from.

A person can be devious and calculating and still have the intelligence of a duck's butt. He's made A LOT of gaffs. I'd bet he's made more than Bush did in the same amount of time. He is the result of a lifetime of liberal indoctrination with the compassion of a sociopath. He'll plow full steam ahead because he simply doesn't give a rip about anyone even the people who voted for him. But he's not real bright and some of shine is off the penny. Even lib comedians and pundits make fun of his teleprompter dependence. Case in point: After spending more than Bush in such a short time, he's still trying to blame Bush. It's not working but he still keeps doing it. Rules for radicals tells one how to "win", it doesn't tell them what to do after they've won or how to keep said power. And the American people aren't stupid for long. They may have bought the hype but they don't have a lot of tolerance for incompetence. Like the tea parties, none of this will be televised. But I think we'll see We The People start to wake up in 2010. In the meantime congress (regardless of what queen Nancy says) has to tread much more carefully...especially those up for reelection.
