Westboro Church to Protest at Elizabeth Edwards' Funeral

RALEIGH, N.C. (WGHP) — The Westboro Baptist Church, a Kansas church famous for its anti-homosexual protests at funerals, said it plans to protest at the funeral of Elizabeth Edwards on Saturday.

The church plans to protest for 45 minutes before the funeral starts at 1 p.m., according to the church's website.

The church did not provide a specific reason for the protest.

This is one time that being bi partisan or whatever you want to call it is needed. The more that stand between them and Mrs Edwards on her day of final rest the better. One town completely cut them off from even getting anywhere near the town when they closed off all the roads to the city. Sounds likea very good plan and easy to do even in a small town like mine witha Population of over 5K.

On the other side I also wonder what kind of signs these subhumans will carry.  They do not believe in divorce and as far as I know she was still married at the time of her death.

Anyone want to bet that the signs will relate to husbands that fail their wives, will the signs be subtle, God hates those that are unfaithful?    God hates adulterers.---The seed of an adulterer is born a Bas**rd.

Should be interesting to see what the Phelps come up with.

She died so young and her children will never know the excitement of placing their own child in her arms.     

Darn I feel so sad for a life taken of a young mother.  She the mother is at rest but the children must go on without her.

Oh hell Vesta.   I didn't chime in yesterday, as I didn't have the time to dedicate to this, but I do today, so here goes.  There is not one iota of redeeming quality in John Edwards.  Powerful man, or regular every day Joe...it matters not.  The man cheated on his wife.  He did not hold true to his vows.  There are NO excuses.  None.  Zip, zilch, nada.   So, he was there with his kids....when the woman HE disgraced died.  Even if it was some altruistic namby-pamby crap to support the kids, it doesn't matter.  He does not deserve any excuses, or any favors.  Now, with all that said, Elizabeth was no saint.  We all know that, but we aren't hateful mean vindictive people here.  We will pay respect for the departed, especially since she handled her situation with a significant amount of grace and dignity.  Had she acted out like a whining, sniveling kid, well, I don't know. But she maintained a facade of dignity, for her children's sake, and for that I am respectful.

But for the love of God and anything holy, Fred Phelps is an evil man.  The only one that deserves a Fred Phelps service at their funeral is Fred Phelps.  He is a horrid, evil man.

I do understand your complaints about my writing, however as this whole forum and computers are new to me, with in the last 5 years or so, I am still trying to work out the quirks and learn to write without the stream of related stuff.

Give me time and in 20 years or so I may be able to make sence to you.--- by then perhaps I will be able to understand myself.
