Flynn may've misled the VP and gets fired.  Comey misleads the entire Universe and was keeping his job... ?  No effing way.

Surreal irony that the same guy fired both men.  Thanks, Mr. President.  ...the campaign-promise that never was a campaign-promise, has been fulfilled.

“While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau,” Trump said in a letter to Comey. “It is essential that we find new leadership for the F.B.I. that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission.”

In a separate statement, Sean Spicer said: “The president has accepted the recommendation of the Attorney General and the deputy Attorney General regarding the dismissal of the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.”

Comey’s termination comes just hours after Spicer was asked during the daily press briefing if he still enjoyed the full confidence of the president. Reports surfaced this week that Comey made a false claim about Huma Abedin in a Senate hearing last week when he said she “forwarded hundreds and thousands of emails, some of which contain classified information” to a laptop owned by her husband, Anthony Weiner.

Flashback: Comey and FBI Never Asked for DNC Hacked Computer Servers During Investigation

The FBI did not examine the DNC servers before issuing a report stating the intrusion was a Russian attack.

On December 16, 2016, FBI Director James Comey reportedly agreed with DNI Director Clapper that Russian intervened in the 2016 election.

At least six times Wikileaks has denied Russia was their source of the leaked DNC emails.

Buzzfeed reported:

The FBI did not examine the servers of the Democratic National Committee before issuing a report attributing the sweeping cyberintrusion to Russia-backed hackers, BuzzFeed News has learned.

Six months after the FBI first said it was investigating the hack of the Democratic National Committee’s computer network, the bureau has still not requested access to the hacked servers, a DNC spokesman said. No US government entity has run an independent forensic analysis on the system, one US intelligence official told BuzzFeed News.

“The DNC had several meetings with representatives of the FBI’s Cyber Division and its Washington (DC) Field Office, the Department of Justice’s National Security Division, and U.S. Attorney’s Offices, and it responded to a variety of requests for cooperation, but the FBI never requested access to the DNC’s computer servers,” Eric Walker, the DNC’s deputy communications director, told BuzzFeed News in an email.

The FBI has instead relied on computer forensics from a third-party tech security company, CrowdStrike, which first determined in May of last year that the DNC’s servers had been infiltrated by Russia-linked hackers, the U.S. intelligence official told BuzzFeed News.

“CrowdStrike is pretty good. There’s no reason to believe that anything that they have concluded is not accurate,” the intelligence official said, adding they were confident Russia was behind the widespread hacks.

I'm shocked, just shocked that democrats are being a bunch of political hacks by feigning outrage.

FBI corrects Comey testimony on Clinton aide Huma Abedin

WASHINGTON (May 9, 2017) — The FBI on Tuesday corrected the sworn testimony of Director James Comey, who last week told Congress that a top aide to Hillary Clinton had sent “hundreds and thousands” of emails to her husband’s laptop, including some with classified information.

In fact, the FBI said in a two-page letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, only “a small number” of the thousands of emails found on the laptop had been forwarded there while most had simply been backed up from electronic devices. Most of the email chains on the laptop containing classified information were not the result of forwarding, the FBI said.

Comey was fired soon after the letter was made public, with the Justice Department faulting his overall conduct during the handling of the investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server.

The apparent misstatements came during an hours-long hearing in which Comey was criticized for public comments during the election season, including his assertion during a July news conference at FBI headquarters that Clinton and her aides had been “extremely careless” in their handling of classified information.

He spoke at length at that hearing about Huma Abedin, a top Clinton aide, as he defended his decision to alert Congress 11 days before the election about the discovery of thousands of emails on a laptop belonging to former Rep. Anthony Weiner. The congressman, whose laptop was searched by the FBI as part of a sexting investigation, and Abedin separated last year.

Comey said he felt compelled to tell Congress that agents would need to take the time to review those emails, especially since he had already testified that the FBI had closed its investigation.

He said Abedin had a “regular practice” of forwarding emails to the laptop to be printed out for Clinton, saying at one point that “hundreds and thousands” had been forwarded, including some containing classified information.

My understanding is that his role would be to print them out as a matter of convenience,” Comey said.

But in a letter Tuesday, the FBI said most of the emails found on the laptop “occurred as a result of a backup of personal electronic devices.” Ten email chains on the laptop were as a result of “backup activity,” according to the FBI’s letter, and an additional two had been forwarded.

The letter does not say how the misstatements occurred.

Comey said the FBI had concluded that neither Weiner nor Abedin had committed a crime in their handling of email.

With respect to Abedin, he said, “we didn’t have any indication that she had a sense that what she was doing was in violation of the law. Couldn’t prove any sort of criminal intent.”

James Comey fired one day before US-Russia meetings

President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday evening, just a day before Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was set to meet with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and Trump himself in the White House.

Those meetings are likely to come under even more scrutiny from Democrats, many of whom are worried that Comey's firing puts at risk a fair investigation into what they say are Trump's close ties to Russia.

Late Tuesday, the White House said Trump would also meet with Lavrov in the White House. That rare meeting of a foreign minister at the White House is set for the same day that the State Department said Tillerson and Lavrov would meet to discuss "Ukraine, Syria, and bilateral issues."

"On Ukraine, the sides will discuss the need to stop the violence in eastern Ukraine and resolve the conflict through the full implementation of the Minsk agreements," the department said. "On Syria, the secretary intends to discuss efforts to de-escalate violence, provide humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people, and set the stage for a political settlement of the conflict."

Democrats were warning that Comey's firing was worrying, and that Congress must create a special counsel to assess Trump's ties to Russia. Democrats believe Trump colluded with Russia in an effort to defeat Hillary Clinton in last year's election.

However, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told the Senate on Monday that there was still no evidence of this collusion. Many Republicans say there is no evidence, and that Democrats are using Russia to attack Trump in the wake of Clinton's defeat.

Comey’s Temporary Replacement Has Strong Ties To A Clinton Ally

McCabe should have recused himself long ago. Now if he is the Director, he is in specific conflict.

Via Daily Caller:

FBI acting director Andrew McCabe has strong ties to Clinton ally Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

McCabe was previously the deputy FBI director and following President Trump’s dismissal of James Comey, he will be in charge of the nation’s preeminent law enforcement agency. The White House said Tuesday that the search for a new FBI director will begin immediately.

Until the administration finds this director, a man strongly connected to the Democratic Party will be in charge. The Democratic Virginia governor’s PAC donated $467,500 to McCabe’s wife Jill McCabe’s 2015 state Senate campaign. The Virginia Democratic Party also spent a little over $200,000 on the campaign.

Wikileaks Offers to Hire James Comey After Firing

On Tuesday Julian Assange offered James Comey a position at Wikileaks.

“Mr. Comey knows where many bodies are buried. Working for WikiLeaks is fulfilling. James–don’t become another lobbyist for Glock or Donkin.”

FBI source says the FBI will now start leaking leaking like Niagara. But please FBI friends full docs or you know the press will spin it!

Upon news of Comey’s removal, Julian Assange tweeted that a source within the FBI had informed him that the Bureau would begin leaking documents from the investigation. He urged the FBI to release documents in full to prevent any misrepresentations by the press. On the heels of Assange’s announcement, an additional source claimed that the Deputy Attorney General will now oversee a new Clinton probe following Comey’s dismissal, and would do so in close proximity to acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe for lack of trust.

If confirmed, the reports indicate that Comey’s firing represents a renewed focus on information pertaining to the investigation into Hillary Clinton, after the previous one was criticized by both supporters and detractors of the Former Secretary of State and Senator, both of whom painted the investigation as being either politically motivated or hampered by alleged attempts to cover up evidence of wrongdoing.

Comey thought his firing was 'a prank'

Comey was speaking to FBI agents at a recruiting event and was set to give a speech shortly after. When he saw the news report on TV, he allegedly laughed and said he thought it was a fairly funny prank.

He was then ushered into an office by staff, who confirmed to him that he had been fired. He had not heard from the White House before seeing the television report.

Comey, whose day began in Florida speaking to police officers, did not give his speech in Los Angeles.

Last President to Fire an FBI Director? BILL CLINTON

As the liberal media is trying to cause a huge issue out of President Trump firing James Comey, let’s remember that good’ole Bill Clinton was the last President to do so…

The LA Times reported:

It’s been 24 years since a president fired the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In 1993, President Clinton ousted William Sessions as FBI director after Sessions refused to voluntarily step down amid ethical concerns. It was the first and only time to happen in U.S. history. That is, until Donald Trump fired James Comey.

Sessions, appointed by Ronald Reagan, had been under investigation by the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility during George H.W. Bush’s final year in office.

FLASHBACK: On July 20th, 1993, Bill Clinton fired FBI Director William Sessions.
