Title: I went fishing
Post by: catsmtrods on April 29, 2013, 04:02:40 AM
I went fishing, I needed to obey the rules and regulations my govt set in place.
I needed my car to get there and a row boat to fish in so.

1. car registration
2. Insurance
3. inspection
4.license
5.window tag from NYC to park near reservoir
6. Boat registration and sticker
7. boat needs to be chained to assigned tree
8. fishing license and to obey all the rules and regulation that comes with that (an entire book!)
9. Reservoir permit (comes with FBI background check)
10. Govt approved life jackets.
11. I carry a gun so I needed a permit for that (ya all know what you have to go thru to get one of those!)

I barely have room in my wallet for $$ after storing all that crap! Hmmm?

Did I forget anything? Better hope not cause the trout police checked me!

All that just to go fishing! Land of the free??????????????

....and they change the rules and limits every year just so they can hassle you......I gave up fishing except in my own ponds and now dammit you even have to have a fishing license for that.

I'm surprised you would have any money left to put in your wallet after paying for all that crap.

If MOOchelle thinks $100 a pound wagyu steak is expensive, she should take up fishing and deer hunting for her food.

If you have any money left over, the cost of gas to get your boat to the lake will take care of that.

I did forget one! If you want to fish with minnows you have to buy them from a govt approved dealer and have the paperwork on you while fishing!

Are you serious?  We used to catch our own in local creeks using minnow traps, as well as gathering our own night crawlers.

Not here.  But, I always buy a hunting and fishing license anyway, both so I can go off my land and because it does go to support more valuable conservation programs than stupid ones (There's always a few of those).

I remember living in southern Jersey, it was pre-9/11 so no background check BS and plenty of public fishing sites, but you had to have your license in a plastic carrier pinned to the outside of your shirt or jacket.  What a stupid pain in the ass.

We used to keep minnows in an old cooler with an aquarium air pump all summer long.  :panic:

My Daddy still does that.

In GA, you don't need a license to fish on private property....yet.

Throw an aspirin or an alka seltzer in the minnow bucket....they'll get real frisky after that.

You still don't need a license to fish on the coast or to fish any tidal rivers here.
