Drafe Hoblin:
Goodbye, PGA rankings & sweetheart deals with China.

Hello, LIV Commissioner Greg Norman & sweetheart deals with Saudi Arabia.

And kudos to Trump for getting some revenge back against PGA Commissioner, Jay Monahan after snubbing his courses.

Frankly, the situation is pretty damned confusing.  LIV is the Roman-numeral for '54'. which is the amount of holes at an LIV-event as opposed to a 70-71-72-hole PGA-event.  LIV players are now free-agents, each getting a 61-million signup-bonus.  And each event features a shotgun-start, which means they all start at the same time.  No more fair-weather favoritism.

No more elusive charity-sponsors and PGA-gladhanding.

The flashpoint will be the new 'Golf-rankings'.  Is it even a fan-issue about who's actually 'number-1' in the world... ?

Ralph Wiggum:
Well, personally am happy that players are leaving the PGA Tour. They are independent contractors who are only "allowed" and granted PGA Tour membership. This isn't even just a recent phenomenon, there have been anger and disgruntlement since the early days when the tour started.

The players MAKE the tour, the tour doesn't make the players.

Could type 20 paragraphs about this, but I'll refrain. For now.

Drafe Hoblin:
The Golf Channel is in turmoil.

Little chance they'll stay sane this week.

Considering the U.S. Open is taking place just outside of Boston, it'll likely be rowdy no matter what. And all of the top "insurrectionists" who played in the LIV tour are coming back this week since the U.S. Open is run by the United States Golf Association, not the PGA Tour.

Drafe Hoblin:
The most cringe-worthy comment from last weekend... which also sums-up the PGA's self-indulgence:

Jim Nance--  " When Rory first came here, he was moved by the knowledge and passion of the crowd.  And two years later, the crowd has been waiting to outpour its love and admiration on him. "
