The point is that the voters should never have been put under the duress of a Trump candidacy...
He betrayed this country and should never have been on the ballot, in the first place. Only someone who has been asleep for the last 4 years does not know that he incited an insurrection against our government.

He should have been prevented from running by the 14th Amendment. But the Supreme Court ruled otherwise. In perhaps the most important Amendment in our Constitution, they chose to ignore it.

Now, voters are under the duress of having a possible treasonous dictator as the next president.

It really wasn't necessary.

If Justice had only done its job.

Our system has failed the people up to this point.

Few expect it to change in the near future.

Well it seems that the ones who give the Republican party huge amounts of campaign loot are a handful of filthy-rich American capitalist.

They are usually old white men who favor Nazi values. They are radical Christians who want Christianity to rule the US as law.

If the Republican donors so easily broke our political and governmental systems. Then anyone could have done it, as long as they had a lot of loot or capital. It just happened to be a corrupted political party.

But the Federalist Society, and their capital providers and supporters the Koch Bros., certainly participated in making a double standard judicial system. And they could have broken our systems by themselves if given more time.

The NRA was also a huge contibuter to the destruction of American systems. Their vast wealth and capital seems to have come from Putin and gun runners. If their illegal connections and misappropriations had not been exposed, they could have easily broken our systems by themselves.

What do all three groups have in common? Access to vast amounts of wealth. More wealth and capitol than a small country has.

What I am saying is that our capitalist system is to blame. It allows for capital's unlimited accumulation and control over every function in society. This easily corrupted economic system has set democracy up for destruction and taken it to the brink of fascism.

Let's hope we can pull it back.

While I am a Christian by baptism and know the Bible, I'm not by any stretch an evangelical Christian. The last time I set foot in a church was for my Father's funeral a decade ago.

The only Nazi's are in the Democrat party. After all Hitler's party was called The German Socialist Worker's Party. Perhaps you should do some remedial reading.

Hmm, while I joined the NRA a number of years ago (and posted about it here), I've never fired anything more powerful than a B-B Gun, and have never owned a gun. But I respect our Constitutional right to bear arms. There should be nothing controversial about that.

Capitalism allows equal opportunities to all. Life is a meritocracy, you should have learned that by now.

kt is still butt-hurt over this UNANIMOUS decision.   Even Ketanji Brown recognized that the 14th Amendment limits states and reserves enforcement of rights such as the right to due process to the Federal government.

  In the real world, Trump was noteworthy, compared to HilLIARy, for how successful he was in being supported by small donors. In the real world, the Dem Party is the Party of the Rich.

  In my real world I'm approaching age 70, so I might be an "old white man". OTOH, like many Rs of all ethnic backgrounds, members of my family fought against the Nazis, total rejection of Nazis' values, and others of my family raised the food US soldiers ate while fighting the Nazis.

  While that is "true" in DUmmie World, in the real world Evangelical Christians (plus or minus a very small uninfluential minority) do NOT want to "rule" the US. We see and do not rue the fact that persons of non-Christian faiths (and of non-faiths) have the same freedom of religion recognized (not given!) by the First Amendment.

At this moment, their interpretation of the 14th makes it the most important, until that interpretation gets turned on one of their own, of course.  Then a different interpretation is needed, and the 14th will go right back to referring to Confederates only.

Amen.  We've never followed them perfectly by any stretch of the imagination, but when those basic principles were the foundation of our culture, things worked much better, over all people were better off, and the people who weren't better off had more opportunity and even reason to improve their situations.  Yes, there were exceptions to all those cases, but even those were worked on by people following basic Christian ideals and morals.  Most of the exceptions came from people working away from those foundations.  Slavery.  The horrid conditions in early factories.  The abuse of Native Americans.  Just to name a few and avoid writing a short novel.  Greed, ego, and selfishness are at the root of most of America's evils, throughout our history, and as we've moved away from thinking those are bad, the downhill slide has gained more and more momentum.

The NRA lobbyist gave away a couple million to protect the second amendment rights of Americans. Other lobbies like the drug companies, the tech companies with social media all weird in their media have given billions. Which have pushed progressive liberal ideals on our society, promoting the destruction of the family, abortion, perversion and mutilation of our children to teach them that they a different gender.

We spent billions on education in our public school system only to have the children indoctrinated of being as bad and they should hate themselves and their country and they come out stupid. And higher education is even worse they saddle these kids with tens of thousands of dollars worth of debt for useless degree, so that they’ll never be able to enjoy the American dream when they get their so-called degree.
