I think every speaker at the RNC was required to use the improper pejorative "Democrat party" when referring to the party but better yet, call us socialists and Marxists. I lost count of how time they said it. They are such gross childish bullies.

Couldn't have said it better.

There is a subtle linguistic reason why this has worked out as it has, and differently than for the Republicans, because of the way involving how the name of their party changes when applied to its members.  Then that derivative name for the members gets applied back to the party as a whole, and becomes as generally used as the official party name.  Watching all their butthurt over it is an endless source of amusement.

Is this still going on?

I've been watching the shenanigans at the Dump (with varying levels of interest and attention depending on my real-life commitments) since the happy times of the second Bush presidency, this entire time they've been bitching and moaning about the presence or absence of a single syllable from the name of their party. Thank goodness there aren't any major problems presenting themselves to the country which need to be considered...it's not like a bunch of thugs are burning down city-centres across the country pretending to seek justice is it?
