Assuming you believe in God and were knocking on heaven's gate

Edited on Fri Aug-28-09 11:53 AM by Cyrano
would you prefer applying under the name George W. Bush, or Ted Kennedy?

Okay, so it's not a fair question. Or is it?

Most of us here loved Teddy and believe the world is a better place because of him.

Most freeptards believe that he's now frying in the hottest corner of hell. Why the disconnect? Here's my guess:

Most freeptards aren't too bright. They buy the non-stop propaganda that's fed to them and gobble it up like candy. It's so easy to see a black and white world, a good and evil world, and not to have to deal with any shades of grey.

Many on our side aren't too bright either. But here's the critical difference. I believe that most of us have an inborn sense of fairness, justice, morality, and right and wrong.

Does that make us "wiser" human beings? Beats me. But I can say for sure that it makes us better human beings than those who can't wait to dance on Teddy's grave.

This bonfire was just lit. They will never get over 43.  :mental:

If we believe everything we're told why don't we believe what you tell us?

We're supposed to be dumb and by consequence you're much smarter yet you appear powerless to counter our ignorance and superstition.

Why?

Written immediately on the heels of the above quoted sentence is stunningly ironic at a minimum.

Satan thought he was pretty neat stuff too but Jesus favored the man beating his breast and lamenting the fact he was a sinner.

Many of us have a concept of Salvation that is based on Jesus sacrifice on the cross and not based on anyones definition of doing good.

In answer to Oscar Wilde's question, franksolich would rather be George Bush than Teddy Kennedy.

It's a no-brainer.

If it were based strictly on Law the Devil and his lawyers would win hands down.

Most conservatives understand that you cannot earn your way into heaven, so really comparing their sins doesn't mean anything. Of course God is the only one who truly knows what is in the souls of George W. Bush and Ted Kennedy, but from what they present to the public, it looks like Bush truly did his best to follow God, and therefore, I would imagine that he has repented of his sins.  I hope that Ted Kennedy did so as well, as I don't wish that anybody goes to Hell, but based on his public persona, it does not seem as likely.

Who do you trust to define fairness, justice, morality, and right/wrong?

The average DUmmy, or the Lord God Almighty?

G. Bush of course....and I'd tell the Marines guarding the gate, "The fat drunk guy seems to be lost."
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

GWB without a second thought. Well not so much vote for GWB but vote against Teddy.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

So is divorced Teddy getting the full Catholic do up tomorrow? I wonder how they reconcile that?

Can you imagine standing before Jesus at one's judgment and arguing that He's not too bright; that He should stop looking at the world in black and white, that there really is no good and evil?

What makes you think that lying to St. Peter/Jesus/whoever you think is manning the gate about who you are, is going to get you so much as a step closer to the other side of the gate, DUmbass?

Damn, do you ****heads EVER think things through before you open your ****in' glory holes?  :loser:

OH, Goodness Gracious!  George W. Bush, YES.  FOR SURE.  Can you imagine?

The eyes are indeed the windows of the soul.  President Bush has the peaceful eyes of a man who knows where he stands in the Grace of our Lord.

Ted Kennedy had the eyes of a man who actually believed God, if He existed, was maybe his equal.

Ted Kennedy on Abortion :

Voted NO on defining unborn child as eligible for SCHIP

Voted NO on criminal penalty for harming unborn fetus during other crime

Voted NO on banning partial birth abortions except for maternal life

Rated 100% by NARAL, indicating a pro-choice voting record

http://www.ontheissues.org/Social/Ted_Kennedy_Abortion.htm

Well, if he has a chance at Heaven, his voting record doesn't reflect it.  It's pretty tough to support the unlimited slaughter of "the least of these," and still live a life that pleases Christ.

Because God loves us all, and would prefer to see us all in Heaven, I do pray that Kennedy "saw the light" in time.

Only God and they know what is in their hearts so on judgment day they each will get what is theirs.

Based on the actions that we have seen I would say Bush would be let in and Teddy not.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
