Ok I will admit yes it sucks the poor guy has cancer, however, he is unemployed and getting treated, he got diagnosed on April 1st and had surgery on May 12th, now he is getting chemo. So what in the hell is his gripe?

These ingrates screaming in the streets want full on socialism. Where would this guy be with that? Where would he be now if he were in England instead of here in the U.S. with their bloody wonderful socialist healthcare?
We all know the answer to that one, it would be "take a number"... In other words they would get to him when he was "shovel ready".

If the guy had free socialized medicine like England he would still be waiting for his surgery and quite possibly being denied the chemo therapy.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I had a stroke (while my mom and I were driving past the hospital) and I had no insurance. They saw me immediately when my mom pulled in to the ER. Came out with a wheel chair, took me right to an ER room, doctor saw me immediately. Had every test you can imagine (including angiogram) and was in ICU for a few days (in the hospital for a week total).

They did not ask about my insurance until the day I checked out. They saved my life.  They also wrote off most of the hospital bill (doctors didn't but they made monthly payment arrangements). This was a private hospital (Saint Elizabeth's in Lincoln Nebraska). To this day I owe that hospital my life. We have donated money in years since but I could never repay what they did for me.

Sorry about that cancer but it seems you were NOT turned away for being broke. And no, a church will not pay for all your expenses. They have to help many people and putting all their funds to help one person would bust most churches. ( The ones I attend are pretty small and alot of the members are out of work too ). They will do what they can and put you in touch with others who will do what they can.

You got that right.....NHS in England is horrible. my great aunt was over 90 , and they said she was too old for the surgery...

I wish people in this country would read and research socialism and social medicine. it is not what is cracked up to be...

Greece, and  Southern Ireland for starters are going broke because of it...

Ok. Not to sound like a cold bastard but...He had one job delivering pizzas? I understand the economy collapsed but believe it or not one can still piece together  two or three part time jobs during times like these. Hell I live in Michigan where unemployment is highest in the country and even i was able to find a part time gig to pay off some extraneous bills i was left with after the divorce. It's all a matter of how bad you want to support yourself, it's not fun or pleasant but you do what you have to do.. Also i have never heard of anybody being turned down at a hospital when they had a life threatening health problem. Still astounds me that DUmmies still don't understand that bad things happen to good people all the time. ::)

Sounds like he got treatment faster than I did when I developed diverticulitis and needed surgery.

Matter of fact, he got treated about a month sooner than I did.

Fixed for accuracy.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

When you are in truly uncomfortable situation, you WILL figure out a way somehow.  You either do that or die. As my dad would say, he's not uncomfortable enough yet.  Not that I believe this douche's story.
