It has said in court filings that he was fired for deficient performance and the delegation of critical duties to subordinates.3

Being fired for "poor work performance" wasn't going to help him getan equivalent position elsewhere, either--fair or not, they should seen the retaliation coming. What I find suspect is that it took TWO NEW hires to do his same job. So how truly poor could his work performance have been? They accused him of over-delegating--but it sounds like they piled the work on him and then fired him and split his job in half (recognizing that it was too much for one person).
Racial discrimination is illegal, regardless of the target's ethnicity. Rather than "Poor white guy", this case is "Poor Proggies got caught and nailed."

Sounds like the annual employee evaluation didn’t support a ‘firing for poor performance’ and noting they had to hire two people to accomplish the same tasks he was doing bear out his allegations. Sounds like he had a legitimate claim and the jury voted to compensate him for his loss. KC
Dr. Strange (25,121 posts) 18. There seems to have been two key pieces of evidence.The first was that the company was trying to claim that he wasn't doing a satisfactory job. But then they filled his position with two women. It was weird trying to argue that someone who isn't doing their job properly needs to be replaced by TWO people.The other was that there had been multiple firings in high-level positions, where a white male was fired and replaced with someone who was a minority of some type. Ooooh, I do wish I had a mole over there. How sweet would it be to make the simple point that it takes two WIMMEN to fill the shoes of ONE man?!
One wonders if the two women had to split the guy's salary, or if they each got more than half of what he made.
