Thu Nov 19, 2015, 09:52 AMrbnyc (16,943 posts)Conversation with my boy...G: The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer, the middle class is getting poorer, and the people are spending their time fighting against other poor people. It's really sad.Me: I know.G: Are we getting poorer or richer?Me: Well, we’re already pretty rich, aren’t we? We have this home. We have locally grown organic vegetables every week, and sometimes, we don’t even eat them all. We have the internet, 7,000 TV channels, and clean water comes right out of our sink!G: There are super rich people who have huge fountains of clean water and houses as big as my school, and they don’t think they are rich enough. And they don’t care who suffers so that they can have more.Me: There are people like that, and they cause a lot of problems. But there are lots of good people too, rich and poor.G: A lot of people around the world don’t have clean water. There’s a difference between what you need and what you think you need.Me: That’s true. And when you live in a place like this, where most people have clean water right in their own homes, you can forget what a luxury that is. When you see something every day, it can become kind of invisible. I think it’s important to stop and notice how awesome it is when we turn on the faucet, or open the refrigerator, or get under the covers in our warm beds.G: If people really realized how much they have, maybe they would realize there is enough to share.

Yeah, that sounds like something every 11 year old boy wants to do. Maybe he'll ask to go to the next school board meeting too.

Says the guy who has a house, internet, 7000 TV channels, a sink, clean water, buys more food than his family can eat, and probably never shares any of those. What a f****** hypocrite!

Emperor Three-Putt invited a few of his closest friends to invade seek refuge in the United States. The DUmmy and his 11 year old savant should have no problem with housing a couple dozen of them.
I have never equated this to being rich and successful.

How many poor souls just looking for hope and work have you opened your doors to, you hypocritical asshole? Or is that for everyone else to do?How long will you look the other way when they start raping your wife and daughter and throwing your gay buddies off buildings, you know, in the name of tolerance? Or are you fine with that, so long as it happens outside your safe space ?DUmmies: too dumb to pour water out of a boot with instructions on the heel.CMD
