I was in an automotive waiting room recently, getting my car inspection done.  I picked up the remote, and changed it to Fox.  (I asked the only other person in there, a soldier, if he minded).  I thought of you, Doug.

Well now, if you had the brain-damaged primitive over for Thanksgiving, as an act of charity and compassion, of course, what would you serve, and who else would you have there?

I'll have to give it some thought myself, but there's still five more days for this thread.

I do know for a certainty I'd have to have others here, to lean on, to provide the social intercourse (hey, I'm providing the meal; why should I do everything?), and so while I'd be loath to have decent and civilized people exposed to primitives who don't know their manners, I'm sure I could think of at least a couple other primitives I could have around too.  But they'd have to be primitives who can get along with walrus-face.

Well now, I believe I could be decent to him; after all, getting along with thoroughly unpleasant people is one of my talents, my skills, in real life, as anyone who knows me in real life will enthusiastically affirm.

I imagine I could feed the brain-damaged primitive pretty well, although I wouldn't lay out my best china, silver, and linen for him and the other guests, just the second-best, the antiquities inherited from the grandparents instead of the great-grandparents.

Even though I'm sick in bed, the writing's already gotten underway, and progressing nicely.

I might even have the first chapter up this evening; it looks to be about four chapters long.

The damned thing's writing itself, with no cerebral effort on my part.

But it's nothing like your pictures.

DUmmies gotta be DUmmies. You can't take em anywhere. They don't have the social graces to behave in public. They make a spectacle of themselves wherever they are. That's why their own flesh and blood have disowned them.

Their individual tales should be showing up any day now as Thanksgiving is less than a week away. The lounge will be full of tips on how to spice up a Swanson's turkey TV dinner for one.

I am Concerned about the big DUmmie. The holidays are stressful and many who are newly unemployed are suicidal, feeling they have failed their families.
