Well.....quite obviously, he remains in our thoughts more than in the memories of the primitives, who can't recall any individual in their lives once that person evaporates for one reason or another.

This really ticks me off, the way the primitives so quickly forgot one of their own, and one who'd been around almost since the beginning of Skins's island w-a-a-a-a-y back in 2001.

Selfish primitives, who think of no one but their own wretched selves.

Doug BUlna could take a lesson from Amber, the street urchin. She checks in once a day in order to keep herself fresh in the mind of the hive. (I imaging she's pretty fresh in person as well.)

The sparkling old dude's been absent for some time now.  The sparkling old dude has been a fixture on Skns's island almost since the beginning.  It's like the commode mysteriously disappeared from the bathroom, and no one's noticed.

Now, how hard is it to notice a vacancy like that?

But nevertheless, the primitives don't.

I suspect the CalPig primitive has at least a subconscious awareness of this, the primitive propensity to forget.  Currently, she's one of the most popular primitives on Skins's island, but once she slips out of this Mortal Coil, the primitives'll forget.

This is probably why she's always posting photographs of herself; it's a desperate attempt to force the primitives to remember her.

But it won't work; ten minutes after she's on display in a long box, the primitives whenever encountering one of those innumerable photographs, are going to ask, "hey, who's this goofy-looking broad?"

If I was this way, so unaware of other people around me, I'd slash my wrists.

How many times did primitives insist they love her, care about her, always think of her?

And how many times since she's been absent, has a single primitive inquired about her?

Primitives don't have friends. They have collaborators. Big difference. Friends care about more than themselves and will bend over backwards to help. Collaborators are merely out for themselves.

Well, well.

Here it is, more than a month since the brain-damaged primitive pulled his stupid stunt, insulting "freepers" in the bargain, and he still lies low.  He made a comment where the big guy from Bellevue announced his candidacy for city council this past week, but that seems about it.

But what's more distressing is that other primitives, even his best pals on Skin's island, haven't said a word--one suspects they forgot their good friend five minutes after he ran away.

Yes. Most of his posts were during business hours. Racked a huge post count whilst his employers were PAYING him to work. A lot of DUmmies are like that, taking a salary but spending all their work-time online at DU.

Kirk (the Las Vegas Leviathan) was treated very well. Even when people (like me) lost patience with him after he turned down guaranteed jobs.

Spot on, Mr Mannn.  Can anyone recall a time that a DUmp primitive has strolled over here,and actually had their threads deleted? 

I know that they've been banned for not following the TOS,but I cannot recall a time when a whole thread was deleted, or even just their posts.

It's wholly up to the brain-damaged primitive, no one else, how many views and comments this thread gets; if he's embarrassed by the publicity, he's got only himself to blame.

What could be better than pulling a stupid, childish political stunt on your employer, bragging about it on DU to feed your insecurity, taunting and trashing conservatives in the same thread, and then having either moling or lurking conservatives get in touch with your employer and fill them in on the story, and you subsequently lose your job.

Although the losing the job part is still a matter of speculation, at the very least, his career as DainBramaged at the DUmp seems about over, which he can thank his "Freeper" friends for.

It's a little early yet--we've still got 59 more days until nominations for the Top DUmmies of 2013 open on Thanksgiving Eve, and anything can happen--but I'm leaning this way myself.

Of course, much depends upon what the brain-damaged primitive does the next 59 days--if he remains sulking and cowering in the darkness, yeah, he's my number one choice.  If he grows some balls and shows up on Skins's island to explain things, and apologize to his fellow primitives (especially the ones he has on "ignore") for being such a rectal aperture, I might knock him down to only my second or third choice.

For the longest time, it looked as if cousin nadin had a "lock" on the top award, but then the locust primitive looked as if he was gaining ground, and so I was watching him.....and so was caught totally unawares by the sudden emergence of both the brain-damaged primitive and the convenience store primitive as contenders for the top spot, along with the possible recrudescence of the big guy from Omaha, who'd been dormant most of this year.

A mere month ago, I had not the slightest idea they'd come up.

One can always count on the Taverner primitive to show rather highly, but like the sparkling old dude of yore, he's most likely to be the perennial second-, third-, or fourth-placed winner, never the top winner.

Earlier this year, I'd had high hopes for   and for Big Bertha, but they're fading in the stretch; they'll probably both end up in the top ten, but nowhere near the top.

At the moment, I'm personally inclined to nominate Skippy from New York City--the "NYC_SKP" primitive--and the whole entire cooking and baking forum (yes, one may nominate a group of primitives, as well as individual primitives).  I suspect the cooking and baking primitives can make it to the bottom rung of the top ten, but Skippy's prospects remain utterly a mystery to me.  Maybe he has it in him, maybe he doesn't.  We'll see.

I have no idea why cousin nadin's faded away, but as for other old-timers, it appears the subway cat's loving, caring sisters now have her permanently sequestered where she can't hurt herself any more, and the sparkling old dude appears to be too busy coping with marital problems, to spend any time campaigning.

I'm really looking forward to writing the awards this year.  It's going to be fun, a labor of love.
