Man dies after 34-hour stay in Winnipeg ER waiting room

Just what Obama wants for all of us.
Quote
WINNIPEG - A head official at this city's Health Sciences Centre said Monday workers were shocked by the revelation a man sat in the hospital's waiting room for 34 hours without medical help before dying there.
Brock Wright, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority's chief medical officer and Health Sciences Centre chief operating officer, confirmed Monday that the 45-year-old man was reportedly dropped off by vehicle at the hospital around 3 p.m. local time Friday - before he was found dead in the ER Sunday after midnight.
Wright said health officials are still trying to figure out why the man never saw a doctor.

Maybe it's because socialized medicine sucks.

I was wondering where the management and staff from MLK/Drew went...

No kiddin.  A lot of substations are in that part of town, and I swore to myself if I ever got in an accident or shot/stabbed/whatever, I'd NEVER go to King/Drew of my own free will.

UCLA Harbor and Daniel Freeman weren't far behind on the list.

What part of the US is Winnipeg in?  I hate when liberals hear about stories like this then they throw them up in our face and scream; "This is why we need Nationalized Healthcare like Canada and Cuba!!!!!!!!"

I never have a good answer for them........

Socialized medicine is a bad idea. First of all, it will put more strain on the workers. In addition, people who do not pay for insurance are more likely going to act all entitled to everything. The patients who pay for their insurance are more corporative. As for those Scandinavian countries, they only work because they are a small and largely homogenous nation. America, Canada, United Kingdon, and Cuba are heterogenous nations with different cultural mindset.

Yeah,.....well........but it was free.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

But we're already getting to the point where Americans are starting to "demand" this as a basic right, as if the Bill of Rights mentions government sponsored health care in there somewhere.  Another thing that is really starting to bug me is the semantic games the media plays with issues.  In this case, it's interchanging the terms health care and health insurance.  I know this is a concept difficult for libs to grasp, but health care is what you get from the doctor and health insurance is what pays for it. (unless  you're a self pay)

When I had elbow surgery a couple years ago I didn't have insurance.  Big news flash here.  I still got the surgery.  I thought uninsured people are part of the "millions without health care."  I paid for my surgery with actual money that I had earned.  Imagine that.  Maybe I should have just sat around with a messed up elbow, collecting welfare and whining that the government needs to step in and do something about it.

Charles, you are, of course, correct. The problem with supposed universal health care is that it almost instantly becomes rationed health care. From rationed health care, we quickly get infanticide, then euthinasia. These being "cost effective" solutions.

Note the left's clinging to the current permitted infanticide claiming that it "preserves a woman's right to choose." . That it is, in fact, NOT part of Roe v. Wade is irrrelevent to the left, because it will make EXPANDED paramaters much easier.

You've just hit on another inconsistency of liberalism.  When social conservatives complain about a slippery slope, they mock the whole notion, but they can see the slope in anything that they perceive as being a threaten to abortion on demand.

Northern North Dakota. Don't believe me check out the parking lots of liquors stores & Malls in Grand Forks ND on the weekends. Damn near more vehicles with manitoba plates on them than ND plates.  :evillaugh:
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.
