Can anyone stop this???

Firing Sessions and installing Whittaker paves the way for Mueller to be fired, something we knew Dump was planning since it started.

Can we go into the new session now? That orange monster is speeding up his criminal dictatorship. He has to be stopped.

Yeah... who needs pesky rules and laws when you an do whatever you want?

2. Trump may appear as if there are no repercussions and he has made a mess of the nation, but..

He has not been very successful these last two years with all the power. I am good letting this play out.

7. Dems need to legally challenge

Democrats need to legally challenge Whitaker's appointment.

5 U.S.C. ยง 3345 states that the president can only appoint a successor who has not been confirmed by the senate IF the vacating officer resigns.

Sessions' letter clearly states "At your request, I am submitting my resignation". That's clearly not a voluntary resignation, so I would think it could easily be argued that Whitaker's appointment violates US legal code. The spirit of this code is to prevent a president from firing executive officers and replacing them with loyalists who haven't passed senate confirmation, i.e. it maintains the senate's oversight.

Those three words - "At your request" - may be Sessions intentionally preventing Trump from being able to replace Rosenstein with a loyalist like Whitaker. Trump brutally abused Sessions for many, many months......... perhaps this is Sessions' final payback?

Perhaps there's enough R senators that worked with Sessions and respect him, and also don't want to allow further erosion of congressional oversight, that would team up with senate dems to challenge.
