My mom has a brass bed that I want to paint. I want to either paint it to look like oil rubbed bronze or a rustic look, maybe black with a little rust.
I used a product when I rusted a can to make a pencil holder and it turned out really well. First you paint this lead like paint on it so it looks all rough and it's matte. Then you paint on the rusting solution. After you can spray a protective coating on top. You can use as little or as much as you want so I could have more of the black showing than the rust.
I'm trying to talk her into painting it, she has absolutely no imagination...at all. It looks very 80-90's to me and by painting one of the ways I said above or making it look like aged brass I think it would make it look really cool. She just wants to get rid of the bed, I say she before she gets rid of it we should try to make it look as cool as possible. This bed is in her guest room where my girls are staying so they will be out of that room soon after we move.
