Holy Crap! It's Thomas Crapper's Birthday

(1/1)

Eupher:
Most everybody has seen an episode of "Dirty Jobs" and its then-host, Mike Rowe. Mike is a consummate storyteller. He's funny, articulate, and paints vivid word pictures. He's the kinda guy you'd like to have a beer with at the neighborhood pub.

Of course Mike has a podcast and while most of those are too long to watch in one sitting, occasionally Youtube breaks them up in chunks. This 10 minute video (and the accompanying historical text about Thomas Crapper) will get you busting your gut.

Just don't bust your gut at 35,000 in an airliner's first class bathroom.

Mike tells the story -- WARNING. THIS STORY IS NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH.

I had long thought Thomas Crapper was just an urban legend.  It's early in the day and I already learned something new.   :hi5:

That has been one of my favorite trivia questions to ask in front of audiences over the years:

Thomas Crapper is credited with developing what common household device?

Note: he also invented the "ball-cock".
