nice to be rich enough to scare NBC
« on: October 07, 2008, 09:18:34 AM »
SNL did a lame skit on the passage of the obimnation bill last Friday.  Part of the skit was introducing some of the players in the fiasco, a group of sub prime borrowers, Pelosi, Frank, Bush, Soros, and a couple named Sanders, who had run a bank that made tons of these loans, and who sold out to Wachovia before it all hit the fan.

Anyway, according to Malking, the Sanders got angry enough to get the video pulled from You Tube and the SNL website and down the memory hole.

From what I remember of the skit, they pretty much accused Sandars of criminal fraud, so I am sure the lawyers at Rockefeller Center got the message real fast that A, they have deep pockets, and B after they get done with NBC, their pockets will be a great deal deeper.

So, the skit is headed toward the memory hole.  I have to admit it was pretty lame, but even then, it seems to have hit its target where it hurts.

I haven't seen the skit but I read a transcript somewhere. I thought it was rather funny.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

it was hilarious despite the Repub/Bush bashing.

I didn't realize the Sanders were a real couple....

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

It's a pretty freakin' funny skit, especially for SNL and can still be seen here:

Looks like NBC is pulling those clips down as fast as they go up. Both links no longer work. I have it on my PC, though because I downloaded it through Bit Torrent. So, if anybody wants to view it, PM me.

Here's an update from the NRO blog:

UPDATE: NBC sources say the objection has to do with the caption underneath the two mortgage-backed securities investors who made off with billions, which reads: "People who should be shot." The same sources say the video will be edited to remove that language and returned to the website.

Of course that clip was good enough to air on SNL without those captions being edited. Funny how the media acts..... L Ron Hubbard prophesied about this type of media many years ago in his Dekology....... "Mission Earth"
