« on: January 17, 2008, 08:16:54 AM »
But no snow or ice here yet.

I'm surprised they cancelled on the threat of bad weather...it's exam week at the High School.

Oh well...hope the kids get along today!!

Hey, how about when people talk about the weather, they give at least a broad geographical definition of where they're at?

Well, that works, that gives one at least a vague idea.

That's why when discussing the weather, I always include "the Sandhills of Nebraska," so others can determine where I'm writing from.

South Central PA. We're expecting some snow also. I think I'm lucky to be living here, we don't get the extreme weather that the DC area or Pittsburg gets. I think it has something to do with the Appalachians.

st. louis got flurries, but nothing much else.. can't believe I actually was listening to Atlanta radio and laughing at my fellow southerners for not knowing how to get through 1/2" of snow.. (considering that I'd have been in the same boat 2 years ago...).

I felt so much like a "yankee".. someone save me!

Hey Flame, I took the liberty of adding a bit to your title and making this the day thread. We have some flurries going on today, nothing too exciting. Kids will be off Friday and Monday so I put the baby in with the sitters so I could get some studying done(yeah, I know, I'll get to that in a second :shucks:)

No snow here today

Nothing exciting going on at work today, but Karate class should be interesting.  My regular Thursday class has been usurped by the Sensei class (where the head sensei teaching other senseis how to teach things) and everybody is welcome, but we will be learning a black belt kata.  A little intimidating.

TOTD:  I got nothin'

It's coming. It's been going about 2 hours here between the Rapahannock and Potomac

Northern Virginiastan is getting lots of snow. And it's sticking. Thank goodness I hit the grocery store early this morning. I'm sure the panic has already set in...

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

It's windy in Phoenix today, making it cold by our standards. The high temp is supposed to be 58 degrees today. With the wind right now, it feels close to freezing. According to Yahoo Weather, it "feels like" 37 degrees officially.

Brrrr...

It was tough getting out of bed this morning to go to work. I just wanted to crank my electric blanket to high and hibernate all day.

But, alas, bills must be paid so here I am.

TOTD: I turn 30 this year. A co-worker has assured me that there is still time for me to find the "right one" and settle down. With each passing minute, I doubt more and more.

So, for today's TOTD, is there still hope for me?

Started snowing at 10 (et) this morning, and has been snowing steadily since.  The boys are now outside burnng off some energy.  :cheersmate:

We spent the morning watching last nights episode of American Idol.  Quite entertaining.

TOTD:  Jendf, I think there's plenty of time left for you!  My mom and dad got married when my mom was 27 and my dad was 32...first marriage for both of them.    They met at a party around Christmas or New Years, and were married in May.  It will happen.

Yes!!! Never think it's too late. I married the Mr. at 29. I got married once before at 23 - way too young.

the ice is gone, but the roofs and trees all still have their little snow blankets on today...

we live at a higher elevation than seattle, but still... this winter has had a lot of snow so far for this area.. not record breaking, but still, a lot.

we may get more over the weekend which would be fun..
