Just out of curiosity. Ever had a total stanger smile at you, like at a work place, party, school, restaurant, or any public place?

I'm a southern boy, so yeah, all the time.  Smiling is a way to put others at ease.  I smile at strangers.  They smile at me.  It's the gentile and civilized way to go through the day. 

I'm floored you'd ask.   :o

Yes -- but somehow my wife's face overlays it.

So I am left with a small ego-hit, followed by a big love-hit.

I love lots of people here -- but with filial love (and they know it and properly tease me).

I smile at people too...I feel it's kind of cold and impolite not to engage someone in some way when you pass by them, especially when it is just the two of you in the aisle or something.

Actually I notice females do it alot more often than males{Guys don't want other guys to get the wrong idea} I never take that as flirting

Happens to me all the time. That's why I asked. :-)  I get a lot of smiles, mostly from womenm usually at school, work, and parties.  Whenever it happens, I think about New York because of all the buildings it has and the skyline it has. One of the buildings, that came to mind is the World Trade Center and this was way before 9/11. That explains why I am constantly haunted by the images of the building on 9/11.  :bawl: Well, it has nothing to do with 9/11 because I've always thought of New York way before that day. It's hard to get it out of your head because it is burned in for good. Also, I think about those cute little cuddly ptarmigans.
