A Democratic Plan to Reduce Child Poverty by Half
The Bennet-Brown Plan, introduced by Sens. Michael Bennet (CO) and Sherrod Brown (OH).

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/10/26/16552200/child-allowance-tax-credit-bill-michael-bennet-sherrod-brown

FTA:

Quote
A new proposal by Democratic Sens. Michael Bennet (CO) and Sherrod Brown (OH) would change that. The American Family Act of 2017 would dramatically expand the child tax credit, which currently offers up to $1,000 a year for families with significant earnings but little or nothing for many poor people, to pay:

$3,000 per year, or $250 per month, per child ages 6 to 18
$3,600 per year, or $300 per month, per child ages 0 to 5

This would do nothing to reduce child poverty, but everything to increase the number of kids born into poverty. IOW, future Democratic voters.

it would increase the size of the flat screen tv the parents who are getting the tax credit watch as well as increase the number of sports and movie channels they buy on DirecTV

Up to $1,000 a year for families with significant earnings?  WTF?  So you are trying to tell me that people that earn less than significant, whatever that is, can't take it?

Too lazy to look it up... I suspect that you must have some income before you can take the credit.

I've got lots of kids and I know it's my patriotic duty to pay as little in taxes as possible. I'm good with it

As far as I am concerned if one can legally pay zero taxes then more power to them!!!  I do draw the line at getting money back from the IRS when you reach zero taxes.  That pisses me off.

I'd really rather break even, but unfortunately/ fortunately the with holdings stop at 9 before the irs starts raising eyebrows, I've got rental depreciation and capital gains are taxed below what the regular working stiff pays.

What childhood poverty? In South/Central America maybe?
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

A Democratic conservative Plan to Reduce Child Poverty by Half over 90%

1. Reduce all tax rates to flat tax 10%.
2. Eliminate welfare except for the truly needy.
3. Emphasize the nuclear family structure (both mommy and daddy)

Of course, this would end Democrats as we know it...

If you can't afford them then don't have them.

There should be diminishing benefits for those on welfare who continue to have children.

Yes, with the liberals involved it seems abortion would have something to do with it.

There should be diminishing benefits for those on welfare period. I'm all for giving someone a hand when life kicks them in the balls. I ain't to fond of making it for a lifetime.  There should be some incentive to get off the dole.
