2014: #06 Top DUmmie (cali)
« on: December 27, 2014, 12:27:24 PM »
Congratulations! to cali, winner of the 6th spot in the Top DUmmies of 2014.

The bitter old Vermontese cali primitive’s been around the block a few times, although not as many times as one’d expect.

2008 #13 Top DUmmie
2009 #13 Top DUmmie
2011 #09 Top DUmmie
2012 #13 Top DUmmie
2013 #06 Top DUmmie

As with Lamond X, the MrsCorpio primitive, she’s been on the ballot all ten past elections; one wonders why she’s been so unrecognized, because she‘s surely stellar in her appearances on Skins‘s island, and subsequently here in the DUmpster.

I will say that some decent and civilized people retain a mild affection for cali, despite her raw, savage, unrestrained bitterness and hate; she’s after all a reasonably attractive slender woman, and can be elegant, betraying evidence of her good breeding those few times she chooses to be so.

The bitter old Vermontese cali primitive’s 60, 61 years old, and lives in northernmost Vermont, right on the edge of America.  She was born and raised in both Connecticut--Old Money and Much Money--and California, and so one wonders why living in isolation among the unpeopled mountains and trees there appeals to her.

She’s single, but she’s been married, or at least shacked up with guys before…..or at least hopped around in the sack with a lot of guys, like the windy primitive, the “In_The_Wind” primitive, or the graywarrior primitive.

But before going on, one has to mention her biggest faux pas, from 2011, where both primitives and decent and civilized people watched in real time--it happened right before our eyes--as she got herself fired as cook at a tea-and-crumpets place:

The saga’s so well-known there’s no point in repeating it here.

And congratulations to our member, shown above, who when originally posting the topic, had not the slightest idea things were going to turn out they way they did; those are the best primitive threads.

If one wants, one can however find it at:

It’s always been apparent that, for whatever reasons, cali since her childhood and adolescence s-o-o-o-o-o-o many years ago, aspired to be a rebel.

Not for any specific reason; she just wanted to be contrary.

Now, there’s usually very good reasons to rebel against the conventional, but rebelling simply for the sake of rebelling, is pretty pointless, and leads to no good end.

Quote
…..[She]…..was raised in rather affluent circumstances in Connecticut, and was sent to a girls’ polishing-off school in California. Given the culture of the times, she became hippie-ized, a radical chic chick, for whom one of her hobbies was hanging around with the sort of persons she’d heretofore been utterly ignorant, a certain minority group.

Such interest wasn’t because she was truly interested in the plight of the oppressed, but simply because she wished to shock, to offend, what she thought of as the dominant-culture oppressors…..

A lot of hippies were like that; it was a way of getting back at their parents.

“a primitive’s deep dark secret”
http://conservativecave.com/index.php?topic=92010.msg1149289#msg1149289

- - - - - - - - - -

Another example of cali’s pointless rebellion, just for the sake of rebelling, is seen in her rejection of the Faith of her people, in favor of possibly the most enigmatic religion for those of European (and African and Latin American) derivation to grasp, and practice.

In all the history of those of European derivation tackling Buddhism, only two of them--Annie Besant and Sir Christmas Humphreys--ever even came close to understanding this eastern religion.

And even they admitted their understanding of it was imperfect, given the people and culture from which they’d come.

Buddhism of course is a valid and useful religion, with a very long history, in which hundreds of millions throughout the ages have found both solace and self-awareness.

But it’s a religion for a certain people in a certain place at a certain time, not for those of us on the outside flippantly seeking to rebel, just for the sake of rebelling.

- - - - - - - - - -

And inevitably, cali’s a flop, a dismal flop, as a Buddhist; one gets the impression she’s not really trying.

One of the main tenets of Buddhism is that one finds self-awareness by ridding oneself of all anger and hostility.

But, for example, the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive’s not even trying to free herself of her vendetta, her rage, her hate, against George Bush.

When she comes to accept, and love, George Bush (and other Republicans, and conservatives, and pro-life adherents), then her conversion will prove sincere, but that’s never likely to happen.

नमस्ते), cali.

I think we'd be able to figure out the exact numerical value of pi (not pie, which is of infinite value) before we'd be able to do that, Frank.

Unfortunate. She had a banner year for her but could only match the previous year. Chances are she's peaked unless she does something really good, like offs herself and puts it on video, something of which she is too afraid to do.

Still, I voted her top because she did stir the hive and she sticks around, not running away even when others correctly harass and belittle her. Chances are in 2015 she'll continue to raise a ruckus and show herself to be a true fool, but she doesn't have the staying power to break the Top 5. If she's not going to do any better than this, best for her to just drop off the map and let someone else step in and can do what she does but with more noticeable insanity and anger. The primitive cali is, in some respect, the victim of her own longetivity on the island.

Congratulations to Ms. Earwig 2011!  I'm glad to see she made it to #7.

Cali has defended one of my moles several times.  I do admire her tenacity, and even though she is a bitter old bitch, she did come back to the island after she got shitcanned, unlike Doug.  At the most, I will give her that respect.

As far as her tweaking the other primitives, it goes something like a saying that one of my friends will quip:  "The enemy of my enemy is my tool".

In that sense, cali is an excellent tool, but still just a tool.

This one does disappoint me a bit,I really thought she would rank higher but I guess her moments of lucidness in the second half of the year were held against her.
Alas it appears that Eva will forever be just a gypsy in the wagon of the traveling show rather then the main attraction of the carnival.

Such a waste but what the life of a Primitive will always be.

I think Earwig Eva easily deserves a top five placement.

Since becoming wallduded, permanently unemployed, permanently crippled, and addicted to pain pills, she has upped her DUmp game tremendously.

Other than her slip to #13 in 2012, she has certainly benefitted from wallduding herself.  Another broken bone this coming year may propel her into the top five, or even top three.

Just one guess?   :-)

I think it was last year or the year before, where I only missed two out of my top ten, and in order, too.  The stars must have aligned just for me that year, though, as I don't think I could muster that feat today.

nads is there for sure, as is BainsBane (Alex), mo (Go!), NJCher (stew), and LFR (ugh). The order?:

1- nadin
2- Alex
3 - mo
4- Cher
5 - Hamber

*If* I'm right (and I'm probably not), they're all "women".

Vermont is the closest to communism Hippies can get to and still be in America. Cali may be the reason single payer health care failed in that state. Vermont simply could not support free health care for all. Cali's state paid, pain killer pill addiction could well have been the straw that broke the earwig's back.

Now she's gonna have to fork out for Obamacare. I can't wait for the thread when she discovers how much that will cost her.

Vermont is a cesspool of liberalism, degradation, drugs, and commies.
Its a state where we need to send missionaries to.

Didn't want to hog the board. :)

laserhaas may be exchanged with mopinko. I stand by nadin being near the bottom of the list. To borrow from frank's analogy, she is still putting out a good product, but she's pulled it from the department store shelf and is peddling it at a tiny fruit stand in the middle of nowhere.

I do want to give frank some credit for making me see the error of my ways with his write-ups thus far. I didn't really have much use for this year's crop of DUmmies, but when taken on their own instead of comparing them to the DUmmies of yesteryear they're not too bad and live up to their laughing stock reputation.
